How would it make sense to kick the team that qualified for both lan events and invite a team that has issues in proseries? when trying to showcase the best current BW pros how would it make sense to invite yellow and grrr to play when bisu didn't qualify, because yellow and grrr did well in the past? The point is, using only past performance and not current performance (in any way) to decide who to bring to a tournament is never going to be a tournament that shows the best teams or even the best games.

But jangbi didn't got invited because a random guy is like USA BEST DOTA, but because he qualified. Something that coL is unable to do.
Starladder is not invite only, you need to qualify for via pro series, exactly like every soccer(most probably every sport)league in the world.

in proseries. 4 of the 16 star series slots are qualifiers in the rest are legacy starseries teams regardless of current performance.

At season 1 16 team were invited(at that the time top teams). And at the end of every season the last two will go to the lower league and the top 2 teams go to the higher league.
Exactly like evrey other sport league out there.

except only 2 teams in the starseries show stable performance. mtw and na'vi. if you can't adhere to that you might as well show the best current teams. they won't even do that.

It's like any other league ever. Start with invited teams, bottom falls lower, top from lower gets higher. After a number of seasons no matter how bad the starting teams were the ones playing best will be on top

it's not that they lost in tournaments. na'vi and mtw lost most of those same tournaments. but m5 barely won any games, and m5 looked absolutely awful in every game they didn't win. they are horribly streaky and inconsistent as of late.
I really don't have american bias. i have results bias. the teams that are playing well right now i view as better than the teams that have proven to be overrated.
CLG have actually been showing good games lately regardless of poor end results
mtw admittedly are not even practicing and still take games in series and show very close games in losses.
and na'vi have won minor tournaments just recently, pretty convincingly too if you watched the games. so i dunno what you are talking about no results.
i dunno i guess basing my perception of teams on more than the list of results on a wiki is wrong. but i judge teams based on performance in game as well as results.
