Not too far ago he had a playing session where he picked invoker and explained pretty well how to play him ( Quas - Wex ) I went back over a month on the mtw vod list but there were only like two by him and they were a minute or so long, the rest were all dimaga and some fps player, think you could help me out? The exort maxing video looks interesting as most of the stuff I am seeing focuses on quas wex, thanks!

I'd guess teamcomp matters since he can fill most holes but are there any good fpview invoker videos or guides? I don't really know the reliable dota sites/authors for guides and it seems like builds are a lot less cut and dry than in league. Thanks! my simple steps to invoker: 1. pick invoker, demand mid, play quas/exort. own the lane with ridiculous lifereg&lasthitting power and the awesome harrass tool that coldsnap is. around lvl 9 or 10 rosh with your forge spirits, precast so you have another pair rdy when the 1st ones die and if needed take 1 ally with you. proceed to own the game with coldsnap&forge spirits. you learn the basics of the hero with a simple and solid build. 2. start using all the spells of your quas/exort build. sunstrike is amazing to help with kills on the lanes while youre mid. icewall just plain stops evrything that touches it. maybe start using 1 point of wex to ghostwalk when ganked. 3. start using other builds. learn their spells. train "invoke micro". 4. be a badass that owns his lane and enemy teams with a super versatile always solid pick i recommend quas/exort first cause its strong in a very basic style(in the end just coldsnap, spirits and aclick is enough to do decent) and is so strong on the lane. also makes you train sunstrike early. + free rosh cause few people expect it is fun.

Drums also buffs your forge spirits. Not to mention it will be great as preparation for late game when you get wex and have 522 movespeed.

For me, Forcestaff/Treads first two items for QE invoker is essential. You get survivability, attack speed, and chase. Having a couple extra hits with exort dmg and cold snap is amazing and lets you be really offensive against the right heroes.

Even with phase, you cant out run any hero mid game and pretty much become a glass cannon either way, its better get tread -> medalion for faster roshing ability and max out dps power. The mana regen/cost from medalion is way far superior and needed for a QE invoker as you tend to use more spells compare to QW. This is also why eul/forcestaff is needed. tldr: fuck phase boots Most competitive Invoker's I've seen that know what they're doing get Treads on QE Invoker. As Quas/Exort, Force or Blink are arguably better than Phase/Janggo for mobility. Invoker actually has awful base movement speed, so %-based MS increases aren't that good on him. The only reason Phase+Janggo is good for Quas/Wex is that you get such an insane amount off Wex orbs, and you only need a small amount more (which Phase+Janggo covers) to hit 522.
