It's bad because it almost always ends up stunning himself. And if you get chainstuned for 5 seconds you self chain stun for 4 more Btw you need to get chainstunned for 7 seconds. throwing it right away is not very effective alch is such a strange hero. He farms a lot, has a lot of potential, but it does not enought dmg I guess. I was playing against a really fat alch earlier today. He had phase vang and rad 24 minutes in. He was stomping my team left and right. we had a very disable heavy team, and when the teambatles started (25-30 minutes into the game) alch had no chance do to anything. He used to be such a strong hero in chinese dota 1. not anymore I guess. a lot of things changed since then.

http://fantasy.dota-academy.com/ Hello everyone! I'm proud to announce here the first ever Dota 2 Fantasy League game! Feel free to check it out at http://fantasy.dota-academy.com! For those who don't want to read the FAQ, the idea is very simple: You create a team, and that gives you $10.000.000 to buy players. You buy some players, buying is not definitive, you can sell players later (at a reduced price) to buy new ones. EDIT: You can sell for 100% until the league starts When The International begins, after every day's matches, they'll get loaded and the players will get points based on their performance. If your team has those players you'll get those points as well. At the end of The International, if your team has the most points, you win the league! And hopefully prizes! See? It's simple! For more info, please do read the faq, it's very explicative and it'll help you understand the tactics involved in the game! You can register now and start creating your team! If you screw up, don't worry! There's a "RESET TEAM" button in your Settings page, so feel free to experiment as much as you want! We're still working out some design quirks and will be adding a bit more info in the player/team pages before The International, but if you see any bugs/things that don't look good, let us know! Send us an email, PM me here, come knock on my door! We'll work around it. Also, somewhere during the next week, we'll run a couple test matches (from old matches those teams played). We'll let you know in the page, and if you have the players, you'll temporarily get the points. This will serve as practice for you guys, and to test that everything works ok on our end for when the true stuff starts. Don't worry though, the points will be reset before TI2! Finally. We'd love to give some cool prizes for the winners, so if you know of someone/some organization that's willing to sponsor the league, please contact us! Enjoy the league!!! EDIT: Sorting by price fixed! EDIT2: Some teams are being displayed as having more money than they could have. It's a visual bug (if you go to the team, you'll see that they have a valid team). I'm working on fixing it. If someone ACTUALLY exploits the system, don't worry, I'll invalidate every team that exceeds the total value. EDIT3: SERVER TOTALLY CHOKING! Trying to fix it! Thanks for making this so popular guys!!

he needs a little bit of farm, which for a character that used to be a 5 means you have to play him as a 4 or 3 which puts him in an awkward spot in laning. he lost free wards for a minor aoe heal (heals 300 but only if you stand next to an enemy for a few seconds). His ult is super powerful, though the timing is super strict since you can BKB out of his ult. you have to wait until the heroes BKB in order to use it, which inherently is bad for team fights anyway. He was my main competitively back in dota 1, and i love to play him, but right now he needs similar farm as sand king without the ganking potential. A raw tree is still very very powerful when played with coordinated teams, but his use in those situations is very difficult to eke out.

Alchemist didn't need to afk farm for 50 minutes, that was the whole point. He needed to afk farm for much less time. Acid spray is still quite useful in teamfights and fits in well with -armor strategies. Venge, a medallion, acid spray and you're looking at someone who is going to have very low armor. (Venge no longer really fits in with lineups that Alchemist does, part of the issue). His stun is useful as a followup stun but most single target stuns come from short range heroes (VS) or melee heroes, neither of which he lanes well with. WD/CM both come kinda close but WD's stun is short and the alchemist player is going to have to charge after seeing how it starts to bounce, CM's stun isn't a stun and doesn't last that long (in addition it results in a lane that moves at 280 and 295 ms, not reliable). I think doom impacted his lessened use somewhat as well, both heroes are similar in that they farm more rapidly (also both radiance rushers) but doom has more reliable ranged skills and actually let's the team overall have more farm (he get's his extra 100 gpm just from eating a single creep while alchemist is going to need to clear creep waves or the jungle). Both used to be sent mid on occasion but almost all common mids eat both alive now due to their low armor and no escape mechanisms.

Doom does not have nearly as good late potential as an alch with items. If the meta was what it used to be and alch got all the things he needed and room to be successful without dragging the team through the mud then I really do believe he'd be viable.

For example, Dendi alone made WAY much more points than the entire aL squad. But, of course, if you buy Snoopy and he get good games, your cost-efficiency will be gigantic.

I think it really comes down to teams getting better at timing their pushes to deal with radiance heroes, also limiting buybacks. In 50 minutes of free farm an alchemist would be maxed out and have gold for multiple buybacks. In addition to the abundance of small vanguard nerfs, smoke, CD on tping to tower changes. This can be said for Spectre and even PL as well (generally all the hard carries suffered, though some less than others). The only radiance hero we see commonly anymore is Syllabear and his capability to carry a radiance has little to do with why he's picked (very strong solo + pusher even without a radiance). Lategame an Alchemist is definitely amazing as long as his ult and bkb are up, once they're down he has some issues.

And uhh, no way I'm drafting anyone from aL. When your team gets stomped you aren't gonna score any points. edit: nvm, seems like you do get points when you win a game
