From's Valve's update blog:

Last week the Dota 2 community alerted us to the fact that the ‘Timebreaker’ weapon submission for Faceless Void mirrored the design of a weapon found in the MMO ‘Aion.’ After investigating the issue we discovered that the item was a violation of Workshop rules. In accordance to our Workshop copyright policies we are taking the following actions: The contributor of the violating asset will receive an extended Steam Community ban. We have also replaced the Timebreaker’s model with a new model designed by the Dota 2 team that we feel serves as an attractive replacement.

Everyone who currently owns a Timebreaker will receive the replacement version of the weapon. Furthermore, the new Timebreaker is now a ‘Vintage’ quality weapon. Timebreakers that exist now are the only ones that will ever be until the end of time and thus the item rarity has been upgraded to ‘Immortal’.

Good thing I opened those summer chests

Well the main point being you can't just have a carry that afk farms for 50 minutes.

Alchemist didn't need to afk farm for 50 minutes, that was the whole point. He needed to afk farm for much less time.

Acid spray is still quite useful in teamfights and fits in well with -armor strategies. Venge, a medallion, acid spray and you're looking at someone who is going to have very low armor. (Venge no longer really fits in with lineups that Alchemist does, part of the issue).

His stun is useful as a followup stun but most single target stuns come from short range heroes (VS) or melee heroes, neither of which he lanes well with. WD/CM both come kinda close but WD's stun is short and the alchemist player is going to have to charge after seeing how it starts to bounce, CM's stun isn't a stun and doesn't last that long (in addition it results in a lane that moves at 280 and 295 ms, not reliable).

I think doom impacted his lessened use somewhat as well, both heroes are similar in that they farm more rapidly (also both radiance rushers) but doom has more reliable ranged skills and actually let's the team overall have more farm (he get's his extra 100 gpm just from eating a single creep while alchemist is going to need to clear creep waves or the jungle). Both used to be sent mid on occasion but almost all common mids eat both alive now due to their low armor and no escape mechanisms.

50 minutes is arbitrary, it could still be 25 minutes and your team could still be way behind and in today's game the game could well be over by that time and you wouldn't have room to free farm a lane, especially with a hero like alch that needs the lane on a consistent basis. Doom does not have nearly as good late potential as an alch with items. If the meta was what it used to be and alch got all the things he needed and room to be successful without dragging the team through the mud then I really do believe he'd be viable.

I think it really comes down to teams getting better at timing their pushes to deal with radiance heroes, also limiting buybacks. In 50 minutes of free farm an alchemist would be maxed out and have gold for multiple buybacks.
In addition to the abundance of small vanguard nerfs, smoke, CD on tping to tower changes. This can be said for Spectre and even PL as well (generally all the hard carries suffered, though some less than others).

The only radiance hero we see commonly anymore is Syllabear and his capability to carry a radiance has little to do with why he's picked (very strong solo + pusher even without a radiance).

Lategame an Alchemist is definitely amazing as long as his ult and bkb are up, once they're down he has some issues.

its mostly how aggressive midgame has gotten and the tendency to stretch out the lanes through split pushing. alchemist cant do any of this at all because hes a weak pusher and a weak ganker. the best carries these days excel at pushing or ganking and are decent at the other category, along with other bonus tidbits that put the hero into imba category.

But why people rush radiance on him ? Wouldnt a mjollnir be more effective ? Easier to get, allows him to push way faster and it gives him the same farm

for teamfights, he's tanky and radiance traditionally goes on tanky heroes and alchemist runs pretty fast as well. radiance on alchemist is based upon an old style of gameplay and may or may not be better than a new build.

Alchemist pushes insanely fast with battlefury and jungles about the same (if not faster). A long time ago they used to put battle fury on alchemist, but people don't like waiting for him to get into right click range in team fights to do damage.

well technically the supply of Timebreakers has not changed, since it was a discontinued summer item to begin with. So I suppose in a perfectly logical market, the price shouldn't change

Mainly you actually have to hit people and hope that the RNG procs for it to have an AOE affect with Mjolnir while with Radiance you can just run around (and still hit people - it does give +60 damage too)

he jungles faster with radiance, mainly because you can put down an acid spray and kill at least 2 camps very quickly without using your ultimate (3 on radiant). the last time i saw bfury on alch was probably before he was even played in compet, and mjolnir wasnt as good as it was then (pre 6.67) as it is now.

Wasn't aware they existed not that I follow or care about cosmetic items. Just think it's funny when items that are completely worthless becomes worth thousands of dollars.

Mjollnir is effective on him, but you'd have to build really tanky to take advantage of it. You don't have to worry about the proc occurances, since with his ult and mjollnir, he's going to be hitting so fast, he's going to get quite a lot of procs. Radience is just more reliable to farm with.

A long time ago they used to put battle fury on alchemist, but people don't like waiting for him to get into right click range in team fights to do damage.

he jungles faster with radiance, mainly because you can put down an acid spray and kill at least 2 camps very quickly without using your ultimate (3 on radiant). the last time i saw bfury on alch was probably before he was even played in compet, and mjolnir wasnt as good as it was then (pre 6.67) as it is now.

Why? Did mjollnir get buffed or something?

They increased lightening proc rates and made the damage more reliable, so it's a bit better for farming.

Can't say I like the idea of discontinued items. I wonder how much those are worth now ^_^ Scared to look.

this isnt the first time they discontinue something, There is a courier type that glowing pink red that now no longer could be found, there is less than 50(?) of them across all sever which make them worth almost hundred bucks if you try to convert them in term of TF2 hats.

I wonder how much I'd make if buy one of those and sell it in a year. I bet it'd be more profitable than my savings account...

Nerf Now delivers again. :D

He hints at making one other character female, wonder who it will be.
