Why do people want s4? He's a great player, no doubt about that, but his favored mid style isn't guaranteed to be excellent. Maybe mid will shift back to non-farming after the patch, but I'm not sold on it. He seems like a bit of a gamble of a pickup right now.

Idk s4 seems really ok with farming-heroes in mid. His TA and SF seems fine. It's just that he is so much better with playmaking heroes.

S4 is probably the best solo mid the EU.

"Best solo mid" hasn't meant anything for a while now, though. Mid is won or lost based on support rotations, not individual skill. Maybe that'll change after next patch, but I wouldn't count on it.

Well non-farming mid will work as long as those overpowered anti-carries get nerfed next patch which i think is very likely. Doom or even solo chrono just shit on solo core with so much reliability.

nerf on anti-carry(doom,FV,razor) and some nerf on SoD that actually makes the item not a "YOLO" item.

It ain't a hero problem, it's an offlane problem. Offlane is capable of doing everything mid used to be able to do, so it's better to just have a farming safelane and a farming mid and let the offlane create space along with the supports.

I am not sure about this "anti-carry" term people are throwing around, but people need to narrow it down a bit. I've seen people called tinker and razor both and anti-carry. That is a wide net they are throwing with this term.

It's the post-TI3 patch that did it. I hope at least some of those changes get reversed. The shitty finals we had in TI4 were caused in part by those changes.

I don't think you can really call Tinker an anti-carry, but the term just means a hero that's really, really good at locking down a single enemy and who lacks a huge amount of carry potential outside of that. Razor is an excellent example, because of Static Link. Doom too, thanks to Doom.

Razor is by definition an anti-carry if you look at his skillset, pretty much the main one people mention along with Doom. Tinker is more of a carry with the way he was being played recently, but I guess with the perma CC build it's not such a stretch to call him an anticarry.

Are you sure it wasn't just a team getting figured out and throwing hard? I have watched a lot of sporting events in my time and that shit just happens. 95% of the time its the human players fault, not the game, when we get a shitty finals.

I'm sure. Those kinds of push strats simply weren't viable back during TI3 era, nor the midgame super teamfight strat. Vici could not have reached the grand finals doing what they were doing, and neither could Newbee. They would have been playing a different game, one that simply doesn't allow stomps of that magnitude with that kind of regularity.

And remember, it wasn't just Vici being stomped. Newbee got stomped one game too.

Idk if it needs a nerf or not but the Hero is just so goddamn so strong in lategame. Like really really strong. How do you even nerf the hero without completely making it useless ?

As much as I hate this patch in competitive, I can't really agree with that. It's an awful patch for organized competitive teams, but it's honestly just fine for pubs with the exception of Faceless Void and Tinker, the united enemies of fun.
