I think he is pointing out that every girl gets labeled a cam-girl until she "proves herself otherwise". A lot of discussions I see on the internet about women boil down to "She is using her magic boobies to trick me and I don't like it because I can't control myself..." and so on.

I guess I find donating to streams really weird as a whole (even for guys). However, probably 50% of female streamers totally have the exploiting low cut tops for $$$ thing going on, and most of the high user female streamers do so. And the audience enables it by giving money and subscribing it. Not like guys are really known for their respectable attitudes towards women in competitive gaming.

We have a saying at the firm: You cannot blame them for having a good plan. Cam girls are dumb, but sex is part of life and people do dumb stuff for the attention of pretty girls. Gaming is not going to change that basic fact. And there are a good set of girls that just stream in a hoodie and maybe make up, because no girl I know wants to be on camera without looking nice.

While you aren't wrong, I just find it sad that this is the most accepted (most popular) portrayal with women playing games (according to twitch). Women exploiting their sexuality (the low cut top streamers, the exporn stars...) for money. I know sex sells, its just sad the way the gaming community views women (this comment has nothing to do wiht that zoe quinn scandal, though that is super fascinating stuff).

Yeah, but the gaming community has a stronger "boys club" feel to it then most other areas of the entertainment industry (besides...sports perhaps). Oh wait this is like a sport. Okay so exactly like sports.
