It is important to Dota's competitive design that all players have access to all Heroes and that players can't purchase a competitive advantage. We solve that in a simple way, the game is free, all the Heroes are free, and items are earnable in-game. That means, you'll never have to pay to play and win at Dota. I love Valve. Nothing more, nothing less. | ||

Q: Why would I spend money while Dota 2 is still in Beta? A: We don't really think of Dota 2 as a beta, but we also aren't ready for everyone to show up and start playing just yet. We are constantly updating the game with new heroes, bug fixes, and new features. None of the items you purchase or the progress you make will be lost or reset once the game is available for everyone. I can't update. Steam hung on me... Just a question. Does winning games at higher MMR get you more battlepoints than if you are at lower MMR? If yes then i might see a lot of people tanking or making new account to get easy points for skins. Wonder how they gonna prevent that. | ||

Since you appear to get a decent amount of points for a loss, playing the faster games at higher mmr should give more points per hour than trying to stomp low level people. | ||
