He should be harder to kill though I agree with that... according to the stats website radiant actually has a slight advantage. these are pub stats but it does indicate that buffing rosh would be detrimental to balance at lower levels of play. granted dota isnt balanced around that level but if it is balanced at high levels there doesn't seem to be a need for this.

You can't make that conclusion. How do you even know that roshan has any effect on low level play. I'm quite sure low level players don't use medallion specifically for roshan killing power let or ward it. In fact from what I've seen from my brothers game(low level stuff) Ursa players don't even solo roshan at that level.

Without aegis and roshan games would inevitably grow longer, which is the last thing we want for an e-sport. Teams would farm up more items before pushing, whereas grabbing an aegis makes them more confident to make an offensive. Also, injecting more gold into the game always makes it faster. NS makes the point that imba heroes from old ages of dota have been nerfed, but doesn't really address the fact that roshan and aegis were nerfed as well to be far less game-impacting than before. It used to be that a roshan kill was near auto-win for a team (4k gold for the team). The fact is, sentinel vs scourge is fairly even in competitive, scourge has the roshan advantage, but sentinel has a better time pushing scourge's weak lane. If you buff roshan, people will pick heroes specifically geared to kill roshan, making it even more game-impacting. If you take out aegis, it decreases incentive to push. And it's interesting he plans on addressing "the buyback problem." People have tried to play without buybacks - there was a tournament in dota 1 where buybacks were disallowed, and the results were horrendous. One person getting caught out of positioning = lose rax. It nearly became a game of luck near the end game, as one fight decides everything. Yes, buybacks and roshan are peculiar features of dota, but they've been tweaked and nerf a lot in the past couple of years, and changing them again will have profound ramifications, mostly in making the game longer or more luck based. I agree that aegis is needed to stop stalemate turtle games. I'm undecided as to whether Roshan needs to be made stronger (if he's too hard to kill, then no teams will ever kill him because then they would lose a teamfight if the other team Roshan-jacked them). I do however think that the map layout for Roshan should be reworked a bit to make it more fair for the Sentinel side. Those are my 2 cents. By the way, can anyone elaborate as to why "sentinel has a better time pushing scourge's weak lane"?

In my opinion the dire bot lane is the easiest to push early, since there are only a few paths where the enemy can backstab you, so generally those towers go down first. But then, the radiant loosing their top lane towers doesn't really affect their map control that much, while if the dire loses theirs, then their roshing ability weakens (can't camp near ancients safely), and loose their control over the ancients. having towers close to roshan is ALWAYS a good thing, buy back into TP is a must if youre in a big roshan team battle, if scourge mid tower is up, or t2 or t1 bot is up, TP is quick and youre right back in, ESP with a hero like AM/weaver/WR/DS who all have quick moving spells (haste like abilities or blink). meanwhile sentinal has has mid t1 to TP to, and that isnt ideal, if that goes down, forget it, youll have to TP to bot t2 or bot t1, which is SO far away.
