The words "disgusting", "disappointed" and "unforgivable" will be used and abused. And the balance whine in the dota 2 forums is tame compaired to the sludge that comes out of the SC2 forums. This place stil remembers that we are all playing a game. Or the complaints about formattes.

Note the difference in timezones for each tournament and adjust accordingly. 4 days each. I think theres actually an explanation of how the days pan out too somewhere? Day 1 is like a group stage with like 4 concurrent games then the later days are playoffs or something. AHA: Thanks :D (i could've probably found that myself i guess, oh well )

"I'm interested to see how Korean terrans handle the new swarmhost style as it seems very strong against the current meta of XYZ" is generally fine but "Wow swarmhosts are so OP this is disgusting how are terrans ever supposed to beat zerg?" is probably a great way to get warned/banned. Unfortunately, posts rather similar to the 2nd example fly freely in the dota LRs.

Well Dota 2 you play a ton of different heroes, and with 100+ to choose from there are generally more than enough interactions to mitigate imbalance. Also you can queue captain's to avoid the bullshit heroes. SC2, if something's shit you're basically stuck with it. In general I find the Dota community is actually a lot more receptive to the idea of imbalances / things being OP. Can't speak for the last year or so, but when I used to play SC2 I found it almost comical how much backlash you'd get for suggesting something was over / underpowered..

Yes, so over the years the whiners have evolved and mask their whine behind more acceptable topics, it's a fine art. I just remember the "outrage" over the power of rat dota last year, demanding that PL be removed for the good of the viewers and that NP was evil. It was pretty fun. They were also fun at MLG.

I have always found it to be super funny how mad people get, like you kicked a kitten or something. But I'm sure it will be better this year and folks won't freak out amount professionalism to much. But if not, then at least it will be funny.
