I was playing a game where the other team had earthshaker, Tide, SShaman, Disruptor, and Drow. Not sure who to pick against that much ranged initiate/blink initiate - wards are always nice but is there any hero that's good counter initiation against the blink+aoe stun stuff?

WK, good against everything. Also, Melee carry + Axe into 5 man calls when they initiate on your carry, ez gam.e

There are some ways you can deal with it: IMO the biggest one would be spectre. Their lanes are really weak so would be hard to punish it. And that hero is so good vs blink heroes. Plus it's a squishy team which spectre excel at fighting. Drow Disruptor and Rhasta would just die of the ult after a while. Also since their lanes are really weak, so you could just pick stronger laners and get so ahead that they get lvl 6 way too late. If you don't want to go aggressive you could easily get away with a really greedy jungler like Enigma since they can't go aggressive themselves. Enigma is really good, not only because it will be a teamfighting match. But also because an early mek is game changing vs a lineup like that. You could also just go "fuck it", and never teamfight them and just ratdota. They had really weak heroes for clearing creepwaves except for rhasta. Earthshaker can't really spam his spells for a long time. So Furion Lycan PL Meepo etc whatever. But if you actually want to fight a team like that: Both warlock and silencer are really good counter-initiator. You generally just want to be the initiating team yourself though since you want to fight on your terms and not theirs. So pick initiators yourself. Could go naga + silencer and just global ult after sleep. Or pick heroes that doesn't really care if you get them low. Like Brew, Abaddon, Wraith King whatever. So depending on what heroes you already have, you should cater to the best option for the team.

It is. I think they should not have been invited even with their old roster. What was that back then? Pajkatt, Misery, MSS, Fogged, Mason? But it was actually Smulgullig and not Mason, so they were just 2 Americans even back then.. I guess they wanted relatively big names for the tournaments since EG probably turned them down, but now it just looks silly.

If the organisers really wanted a ADL then they would have made the rules as such. Dog just plays in it, which is fine but its does however give the brand ADL not much credibility. For dog its a nice trainingground tho. 3rd place at ti4 with fata ![]()

BKB wrecks face against that lineup. Slark is a reasonable pick, because if you BKB ult you can't really be stopped from running around hitting anyone you please. Strongest plan is to get a great counterpusher and a great splitpusher, and just mess with them that way. If you don't think your team is coordinated enough to do that, then just make sure you have a strong BKB carry (or Lifestealer) with a good way to close on Drow, and focus on positioning yourself so they don't 5 man wipe you with the wombo combo.
