I never feel remotely threatened by him until maybe level 6 while a hero like Terrorblade just has his one point on reflection, meta and 7 base armor, casts the 2 spells, right click me once or twice me with another support and I'm dead. Sven is like oh I'm stunned but you tickle. I guess comparing any safe lane carry to Terrorblade is kind of stupid though. | ||

He's quite good at a secondary frontline core with a primary back-line damage dealer, but given that there's not really a place to lane him other than safe lane, it means you need a pretty specific draft with a mid- or off-lane damage-dealing lategame core, and even then you have to look at the situation for whether it suit's Sven's raw up-front damage over someone like Doom who has more flexibility and usefulness against specific heroes. So he's a good pick in the right circumstances, but a little bit uncomfortable to pick for, and comparatively easy to pick against. | ||

The problem about being a secondary core is that he is so depedent on having AOE lockdown so he can rightclick cleave as hard as possible, and having that secondary damage source typically implies not having AOE lockdown (well, most 2 position damage dealers dont tend to have decent stuns). Typically in the past, he was run with the most success with spells like vacuum, blackhole, ravage, etc, and all he really needs is a bkb, some secondary damage, and he can teamwipe faster than any other hero. But the game really has to be about 5 on 5 engagements, and he fairs very poorly against split push lineups in particular. | ||

I feel the MoM glass cannon Sven route is better. He sorta needs attack speed and crit for that matter while it also gives him the ability to actually solo kill heroes by being able to run at heroes faster. I don't find his dps output all that impressive without MoM, crit and AC. | ||

Sounds like something EG could run with Fear, like they did Ursa with Weaver (I think) mid. | ||
