He is not much worse now, the playstyles just have changed.

Oddly, WK is actually reasonably legit right now. He's in a decent place. I think only EG are really picking him but they're using it well enough that it's getting banned every now and then against them.

He's been played in WPC a couple of times as well, as #1 position tho, not like EG does.

I don't really want any of those heroes to be "viable" without a significant rework. Bounty Hunter, Nyx Assassin. Nyx was once a huge problem for exactly this reason, imo. The nerf that fixed him was the ground-target impale, which was really an excellent way to deal with this. It retained the hero's potential at a high level while making him much more difficult for 95% of the playerbase to pubstomp with. I wouldn't put BH in that box at all. The hero can stomp with a big lead, of course, but the cornerstone of his kit is team utility in the form of track gold, not conventional snowballing. He is not much worse now, the playstyles just have changed. I suppose my (modified) point is not so much that those heroes can't ever be viable as it is that those heroes shouldn't expect to perform the same function in pro games as they do in pubs. The spacecow buff/nerf cycle is a good example. The hero is designed to yolo onto people and mess them up; The Frog tried to make him so good at this that he could be effective even in the face of tight anti-gank coordination. As a result, he was fucking outrageous in the absence of that coordination, and was eventually nerfed back to oblivion. Heroes with a pubstompy design want a niche to make them viable (like riki vs AM or WK as an unconventional initiator), not to be simply made better at stomping.

Its like, "98% of dire pull is dewarded with one ward, the other 2% easily with a 2nd if ur unlucky". Then Radiant one is like "3 sentries later I have over 75% dewarded but still didn't find the actual ward" plus half your pub teammates block ur own pull trying to "deward".
