But due to playdotas age as a dota forum it's bound to have SOME good ones. I kept looking: Apparently the top voted bounty hunter guide on dotafire has vlads as THE go to core item. What.

Most bounty hunter guides are horrible so it's kind of a bad metric to rate something.

When looking at guides, you just gotta remember that everything is situational, and that people writing guides are often wrong.

What. imo watching progamers' streams is much better - I've learnt far more from watching SingSing stream than reading PD guides, or maybe it's just my preferred style of learning.

I don't know if SingSing is the best person to follow item build wise, but yeah I think pro streams are great to learn how to play heros

Her solo-killing power isn't that high, so you either have to really "outplay" opponents to gain an advantage or use items to their fullest effects. As Yango said, Mekansm lets your team enjoy a mini-snowball effect if you get it quickly enough. With Force Staff and Phase Boots you can solo push and escape from most enemy compositions (with a modicum of map awareness). Split your time between farming and ganking--I err toward the former more, but judge based on your team. Late game you have to rely primarily on items. Utility Windrunner is built in a way that most items are active--Mekansm, Force Staff, Pipe, Hex, Orchid, Drum are all viable possibilities. There's no set-in-stone way of approaching late game fights. You just have to shackle people (don't just blindly throw out that awesome stun if you're not going to get a full shackle), use items judiciously, and don't die. Powershot is awesome for anti-pushing and has a 9 second cooldown with 1800 range. Also, BoT Windrunner is pretty decent at semi-backdooring. Thanks that's really helpful. Other than delaying mek in a bad way it sounds like I'm approaching it properly, I just need to do it better and probably be more of a team leader so my team can take advantage of WR's awesome pushing/counter-pushing.
