Yo. I was zerg and ZvZ was by far my best matchup, because lings are kings, and banes/mutas ain't bad either.

I don't know how you can reference ZvZ as the pinnacle of micro when at most you're microing on two fronts + macroing simultaneously and then say Naga is super easy by comparison when you should be microing on at least two fronts and maintaining decent use of your hero as well. Especially considering how fucking up illusion micro and not killing a creep wave / neutral camp can be just as punishing as fucking up bane micro...

I dunno. Watch first person of EE's naga, then watch first person of RTZ's naga, then watch first person of your own naga, THEN come back and tell me that the micro is so easy you could teach a monkey to do it.

A monkey is quite easy but a parrot would be more of a challenge:-)

Arteezy micros his illusions to last-hit all the time... I mean you'd know that if you watched more than one Naga match of his.

Last hit micro is nothing like Starcraft Micro. When's the last time you had to micro such that your hydras got the killing blow versus a zergling? That shit simply doesn't matter in SC.

I can't speak for him, but I'm assuming he's referring to Brood War ZvZ, which involved insane levels of muta micro. I think the analogy isn't great, because the way people use the word "micro" in Dota 2 is often the way people use the word "multitasking" in Starcraft--ZvZ muta micro might be more accurately compared to say, hitting a perfect crazy refresher invoker combo than it would be to naga illusion control.

Edit:

QFT man, the analogies don't really make any sense.

I assumed SC2 micro, because WC3 / Dota 2 engines are far more comparable to SC2 than they are SC:BW. From what I understand, BW micro was extremely, extremely nuanced, whereas SC2 / Dota 2 "micro" basically means being able to control multiple things at once effectively.

SC2 micro skills translate directly into Dota 2 micro skills, basically. You could stick a zergling into Dota 2 or stick Naix into SC2 and they'd still be able to control in the same manner, more or less.

Was watching EE play a game, 3 people on his team were muted, not much said in chat. Next game loads up, he has been muted for almost 200 hours (and his entire team is muted). I've never been muted before, but is it really that bad of a system right now? 200 hours seems quite a bit when each person can have dozens of reports available to them and there is no system for checking up on the reports.

Rad buffs + riptide CD buffs yo.

Those were ages ago. Fact is, we've seen huge nerfs to (for example) Wisp and Batrider, which are two of the game's premier pickoff heroes. More pickoff=dead Naga. Dead Lycan too, for that matter. And although we can't show any correlation here, probably a dead Ember Spirit. All those heroes got nerfed, and as a result, Naga's gotten good again.

Hell, even the cancer that is OD would have stopped this Naga mid stupidity.

pretty sure naga counters wisp not the other way around

Support Naga does. Core Naga does not. It means that any time you get one-two heroes with some kind of lockdown on the Naga, you instantly have two more following up with more stuns. In the support situation, the Naga disengages you from the core being ganked. In the core situation, the Naga is the one being ganked and can't enforce any kind of disengage (except in situations where she'd be able to disengage anyway).

There's also the huge ability of Wisp/Tiny to push the second the Naga dies, and the way Wisp accelerates the game pace so much that the core Naga can't keep in it.

hmmm. well ur wrong.

to wit, core naga's still really good against wisp. Ur heavily overthinking how wisp ult interacts with sleep.

It doesn't. It gives your team what's commonly known as "mobility," which roughly translates to "the ability to put the beatdown on Naga before she can sleep."

Seriously, you don't see the difference between playing Naga as a core and Naga as a support? Well, it's not like it can be tested anyhow now that Wisp is nerfed into irrelevance outside of N0tail.

You realize that even a core naga is capable of pressing "r" on-time for a wisp relocate... right?

That's... wow, that's really incredibly dumb of you.

You don't use the relocate as the initiation. That should be obvious to anyone with a brain. What the relocate lets you do is suddenly turn add two more heroes, a stun, and a lot of burst into a pre-existing pick-off effort. One hero missing off the map is now three heroes. Two heroes missing is four heroes, and your carry doesn't miss a beat farming all the while. It's like Spectre but more potent. And if Naga sleeps early and escapes the gank? Well, until level 16 (which is when anyone should be trying to shut down the Naga anyway), Relocate itself has a far lower cooldown than Song. It's only at level 3 that they have the same cooldown.

And I don't even know what that other guy is trying to say about the former best pickoff hero in the game being inherently bad against the hero you need to pick off most in the game, barring possibly Antimage.

Maybe people are just trolling EE, but I am a pretty horrible person when I play this game sometimes and I've never been muted, only ~250 games tho.

Pros definitely can receive unreasonable reports.

EE is rarely overtly hostile nowadays but he has a pretty terrible record from when the muting system came out and he was. . .not so loveable.

The pathing of WC3 and DOTA 2 are completely diffferent than in SC2. Also there's turnrate, which is a pretty big deal. I'd have to say the engine is closer to BW, maybe not technically (I have no idea) but in terms of gameplay absolutely.
