Figured the F2P set would be $15 per hero or $35+ for all 3 sets and wards. I'll take $18 all day!

I played my bi-annual handful of games of superior moba earlier today.
I don't understand how people make the transition back from Dota 2 to superior moba. Everything just feels -so bad- for someone used to Dota. Even after resetting a bunch of hotkeys I've even forgotten I'm using (f1 to center camera and b for shop, notable examples) strange little things like the chat logs being far from where I'm looking, and seemingly tiny vision produced by wards on the minimap, and unclear damage instances from ranged / siege creeps... Nevermind the game dynamics being completely different, I can't get past the UI and how clean everything feels in inferior moba, as compared to its better younger / older brother.

What I can't go over is how little there is to do, especially early game. I played League for a few months before the beta was neat and ended up going back to wc3 DotA instead. It's just so much more exhilarating to play.

So i googled superior moba and ended up on a lol forum discussing dota/lol Some was guy saying that dota is very imbalanced compared to lol, using ridiculously op sand king as an example, cause Sand Storm must be massively imba. Think it's time to ditch TL and go to lol forums cause that discussion was pretty amusing

lol forums are really pretty amazing, they're convinced that everything in dota is gamebreaking
|
Now that Blink dagger has no mana cost, how legit it is on the Spirit bear?

Korok is streaming again.

What happened with the Dota community and creating content? Back in wc3 DotA, the DotA Allstars forum had a plethora of quality guides on everything. The overall community's enthusiasm for creating similar content was never the same after the Icefrog/Pendragon split. Dota 2 has been out for some while and there's still a lack of people creating educational/humorous/creative Dota 2 content.
I guess the main reason is due to the community being so segregated? Back then it was really only dota-allstars while now it's a split between TL, reddit, playdota, joindota, and maaaaybe dev.dota2.
I think we need more guides like "The Psychology of DOTA" and "The Art of Mindgames".

Lots of things, probably. Lack of a centralized community, although in the DA days there were also communities like DotaPortal. Lack of motivation - DA used to run fairly regular guide contests. The in-game guide system. And there still are some, like Purge's Welcome to Dota; You Suck, which gets a lot of links for new players.

Korok's stream is so legit, dude needs more viewers

how are there people at 3000+ mmr that lack basic dota skills? this is not a qq, genuinely curious
For example we had this pudge that had: no concept of team comp, last picking pudge when we despirately needed support and had no room for another mid was not particularly skilled, missing most hooks and feeding most of the game. did not know how to build the hero, including poorish item chioces + maxing rot last. Who doesn't know how to skill pudge..
I understand that 3300 solo mmr isn't that high up there, but most people already have a decent understanding on most aspects of the game. I can also understand someone maybe someone being shitty at team comp or playing his role properly, but being skilled enough in other aspects of the game to make up for that. But I've ran into quite a few ppl like that pudge and am really curious how such a disparity btw them and others in my skill bracket can exist. It felt like silver v diamond in sc2
before mmr was visible I was just assuming that it was someone with lower mmr just being thrown in the match to make up for someone w higher mmr, for example... but apparently not

the new pudge set is causing alot of people who dont play the hero very often to pick him.
I am one of those people.

The problem with 3k players is that they don't have a lot of experience with executing certain plays or dealing with certain situations. Also they may not be amazing at every hero. For example that pudge may have been new to pudge. I remember my first time playing pudge, man it was a mess
In terms of last picking crap heroes. Some people don't care about winning and just YOLO, or they are trolling, or they just felt like picking pudge and gave 0 shits about their team.
edit: also maybe they are just having a bad day. I'm way higher than 3k but occasionally I feed like I'm 1k.
