i saw the game you mention, and i also saw fata on warlock being picked up 1 vs 5 with a smokegank, when sigma slowly began to stabalise. it was unfortunate, that it went this way, but that smoke was nessecary because they knew they had to go highground soon, or they may lose the game. and you dont go highground against a warlock, with everything ready.
dont get me wrong, but if you have all 3 lanes constantly pushing into your towers, you are not solely tending to lose this game, because of that awsome lycan splitpush.
Golem cooldown: 165 s Lycan ult cooldown: 40 s Necro 3 cooldown: 95 s Warlock does not stop a Lycan pushing.
:D thanks for this post man. it just shows that you dont get what this game is all about at all. there is NO WAY that you pick a certain hero, just to counter another one. its not gonna happen, you can argue like this with every other hero too.
and then, you reduce warlock to his golem thats a bad mistake sir.

You still haven't explained us how Warlock can deal with Lycantrope. One of Lycan's biggest strength is the ability to splitpush, Beastmaster with hawk and Roar has much better tools to deal with Lycan then Warlock, evident by Roar and the early game presence thet Beastmaster has where he can pressure the Lycan while Warlock can not really do that. Its not neccesarily a counter but rather a tool. All you are spewing out are random scribblings and vague descriptions on how Warlock can deal with Lycan. If you want to convince us you are going to have to do a lot better then with proper argumentation.
It is not that Beastmaster completely counters Lycan but there is a pretty strong case standing as to why Beastmaster has better tools to deal with Lycan and the way Lycan works then Warlock does.
And you should refrain from passive aggressive posting with smilies, it just makes you look like a douche.

Go play Icarus vs Silencer and keep repeating that to yourself. Maybe it'll ease the pain, idk.

Is it the way to counter lycan with warlock with 5 unit fatal bonds on 2 necronomicon, 2 wolves and 1 on lycan? And let fatal bond + whatever dmg u can dish with warlock to handle it?
Thats pretty tall order though.

Scarpe your the one who states warlocks can stop a lycan from pushing.

something that can hold pushes, like warlock (<3) is the best to neglect him.
We're telling you warlock isn't much of a hero to hold pushes. It's a teamfight hero designed to win teamfights with his spells and win the game from there. This isn't a bad hero whatsoever, just that it isn't a good way to stop lycans. They do not teamfight at all if possible. They can go entire games without teamfighting at all and still win the game. You haven't given us a single concrete and solid example of how can a warlock deal with a lycan better than say a Beastmaster.
For your information, as it seems that you do not know, a lycan true strength is split pushing. A well played lycan will exert pressure on 1lane, while his teammates huddle together at another lane. Your team would have to choose to go after the lycan or the other 4 guys, either way space is created. Thats the true strength of a lycan, that incredible split pushing power and tower downing ability. Ignore a lycan in the lane and your buildings disappear, try to kill him ultimate/bkb will ensure he survives 90% of the time.
Not to mention vlads into necro3 is the definitive best build on a lycan 99% of the time. The only exception I would make is perhaps vlad->necro1->bkb-> Necro 3

Since when was warlock good against pushes, he has no good way to clear waves at all or any good ways to prevent split-pushers from just using their escapes if ganked.
I mean warlock is great at teamfighting, but stopping a split-pusher? I really can't agree with that. Warlock goes to stop lycan? Lycan murders warlock 1v1 if he has a BKB and warlock is alone. Warlock goes with his team to stop lycan? Lycan's team are free of any pressure to accomplish other things while lycan is pre-occupying the rest of their team. Stopping lycan splitpush requires good lock-down, like roar that isn't stopped by the BKB lycan will often get and roar is also good because it has a decent range so beastmaster can get off the roar before lycan can just ult away and out of range.
These are obviously looking at it theoretically, if the lycan is super underfarmed and the warlock's team is crushing then you could probably have a warlock that could stop the lycan on his own.
And in the situation of a 5v5 push with lycan's team pushing then it all comes down to how farmed both teams are/where they're pushing/the other 8 heroes and not so much just lycan and warlock.

not bashing the whole nationality Firebolt145 if you try to read carefully.
They are those kinds and really they are uneducated better play in PC bang all day kinds who kill people for a game.
And what im saying is really true, try to queue in SEA and find out for yourself, and now they are contaminating AU server. It is a good think they cant go further than that since they have the shitty internet connection and computers

Even then, that's far too much bashing, and doesn't even belong in the QQ thread, let alone here.

hows that only a warning LOL
am i the only one who it bothers that team liquid always has a USA flag?

I cant think of any hero who can counter lycan split pushing (you will need at least 2 heroes to kill him, generally speaking), storm comes closest i guess thanks to ball lighting but it is still very hard to accomplish that (depends on the items/levels and damage). BM and Bat are natural counter to lycan (or any other melee/range core heroes) while practically speaking Bat is a slightly better choice caused you can drag him closer to your team.
WL by all means is a great anti-initiator but other than that he is (overly) team dependent - people will just back off after your ulti and then come back later, if your team couldn't contain and kill the oppos after your ult. And seriously most WL users i watched (in pro game) cant even do the bonds->ulti combo right so I don't expect to see some good WL in action anytime soon.
