I don't see how. If you actually care about improving, playing a completely different hero every game is actually a pretty shitty and slow way to learn. Plus getting used to random gold is a terrible and counter productive habit itself.
We all learn differently I for one learned a lot about dota from playing -sd -ar -ap(random) even -apem teached me a thing or two. In my eyes it shouldnt always be about how to improve the fastest it should be about playing dota because its fun. On the other hand I never felt burdended when playing a completly new hero I found it exciting and enjoyable.
To be honest I think following a guide and playing the same hero over and over again with the same item build or a slightly varied one is terrible way to actually learning dota. No you never suggested that but this is a "trap" easily fallen onto in todays dota enviorment.

I wish Valve worked on ranked matchmaking a bit more, I'd rather have longer queue times and have games where people are close to your mmr instead of short queues but with players being 1000 mmr below or above you.

just cleared 3000 mmr after starting at 2400 two months ago! (very casual play frequency) games have been pretty good lately (quality i mean, not winrate) (except no one fucking knows how to play gyro still)
nice, dotabuff shows you (somewhat) dated stats....
"this month" i am 69% with void (13 games) and 67% with clock (15 games)
funnily, my highest gpm was when i won a 3v5 with sb http://dotabuff.com/matches/228915241

party of the problem is people (or their teammates) want to WIN, EVERY GAME, so you never get a chance to play any heroes, positions or lineups other than your most secure ones. (or your friends only play their most secure ones so you are stuck doing the same thing yourself)_

hots (the blizz moba) is going to use lol's business model. Free rotating heroes, selling other heroes, skins, etc. I can't really put my finger on it, I have no idea if the game is going to be successful or not.

To me it looks like an all around disappointment that only has the hype from the characters people love to run on.
But there are probably people who will enjoy it, i am just not one of them.

yes, apparently im not allowed to play any other heroes until 4k 
(the real reason is my asshole friend only plays 1 hero so i have to complement him :@ he hasn't let me play in mid since christmas ...sigh)

I would be lying if I said I wouldn't want to play Hots, playing stuff like Illidan, Lich King, Stitches, Nova?Sounds pretty fun
the LoL business model is a pretty big turnoff though, one of the major reasons I don't really play LoL is that you have to keep playing a ton or spend money in order to play most champions. Although I can see why Blizzard would want such a model, it is the best in making $.$.

lol people would tell you that it doesn't matter, because you should only play one or two champs, anyway. That logic is so backwards, I'm always amazed when someone says it.
