Also personally, my original rating(party) went down for about 300 points the first week then the next 3 week it went up +400. Always playing in stacks.
I have 500 difference at least as there is rather noticeable difference between my friend and me (we both know it). Should've kicked people out of my stack when did placement matches. I did them with same mentality you do SC2 ladder placements and it wasnt a good day for my friends.
Ofcourse your picking has huge effect on it. I play CM/CD 90%+ of the time myself.
Also, what if my stack plays without me and gains rating? I really don't think rating can be as big deal as people think it is.

Placement gives -/+50 for loss/win, so the difference between 0-10 and 10-0 would be a whopping 1000 MMR. Pretty important to do well.

Its not like going 0-10 in non placement matches wouldn't still hit you for ~250 mmr or a "500MMR difference" from going 10-0.

I guess you just have to accept that you're not cut out to reach the next level at some things. There's also the fact that a lot of us have just playing for fun for a very long time, and to reach the next level you will probably have to apply a strict method of learning and discipline to your play style.

I guess it's all relative. I wish I was as good as the streamers etc I watch, but then again, they have thousands of games of Dota 2 played, and thousands of games played in Dota 1. I have 50 games played in Dota 2. I can bear the thought of me being terrible.
If I had 5000 games under my belt and was sub 3k MMR? Then yeah, I would probably not feel good about it.
