Matchmaking systems like this never require consistency. It should actually be easier to move up or down if you are inconsistent, since the uncertainty factor is higher. It's goal is to create even games, not making sure you are good enough to move on to the next level, so it doesn't need to make sure you are better than the other players you are currently playing with before adjusting. my point is the system right now more or less does a good job by using the "uncertainty" system in matching you against players of similar skill level. so the lower the uncertainty score, the more confident it is in matching you with and against players it thinks you belong in.
i'm on the side that this specific part of the system works just fine, whether you believe it or not.

So I'm playing NP, and I midas a big creep. Then 2 guys on my team (duo stack) started calling me newb and flaming me, and were like "omg newb you're supposed to midas the low money creeps, haha wtf". And I was like huh? The guy goes, " midas was changed newb, all creeps are 190 gold now so midasing the big creep gives you no advantages".
/facepalm
edit: I tried explaining to him how the exp of midas worked but he just kept saying midas was changed. I give up.

i finally decided to play normal games after ranked since it came out, holy shit, normal games quality of players has gone to shit, i have to play ranked for decent games. I played a good 6-7 games to see if i just got unlucky a couple times, and no, it just seems that all the players that care a bit about a basic game plan went to ranked.

Yeah, basically if you look at the watch tab, 90+% of the games on the first 34 pages are ranked. So it's harder to get into a higher rated game when queueing normal because no one good is even queueing it.

If you don't play AP its cool.

I don't think there is a borderline rule where Post-16 you have to Transmute the smaller ones. And what if Emulator was pre-16 when he uses his Midas...

Yeah, I'm aware of when it becomes pointless to midas the big creep. But this was 6-7 minutes into the game, and the first time I used my midas. Which is why I thought it was hilarious.

So to boost your winrate, you should play unranked matches. Got it.

in the 2 position, he becomes immortal at lvl 6 which is pretty easy considering he lanes well against almost everyone save for a few and he can guarantee himself some farm as a support because he can acid spray on camps.
doesnt matter though, every idiot even on these positions max greevils and seemingly wonders why concoct + acid does no dmg in team fights.

being immortal is a pretty good ult

Just a quick question, how come when I profile some people during a game their ratings come up fine, then others there's not even a bar to show them? I thought ratings weren't supposed to be viewable by non-friends?

Really think Finger and Laguna work wonder.

Actually you can look at their ratings if you're a friend of them / in the same guild. Else, you can't. As far as I know, honestly.

alch's abilties all scale incredibly well almost to a fault. its too easy to recognize which build an alch is going for with a quick glance of his items and the amount of dmg his acid + concoct does. the best way to play alch right now is by being active, even though playing carry still works just fine it's easy to recognize a greedy alch by the amount of damage acid/concoct does and the items he's going for.
IMO players shouldnt even take a single point in greevils because of how strong acid/concoct scales when your playing in either the mid or support and a greedy alch is actually still easy to shut down.
