If they could just will bug fixes to huge systemic issues into existence, I'm sure they would have done so with a lot of other bugs.
Hell if they could do that, they'd probably be working in some other part of the software development industry and not just game development, lol.

Even if it did so in the original, it seems like it shouldn't if possible. The skill was balanced around the double lifesteal from day 1. Regardless of whether or not it's intended, it's been known since basically the hero's release (if not before then during testing of the beta map) and the lifesteal values for the skill are meant to account for the fact that you will sometimes double proc it.

haha, now MoC is more bugged than ever before

Thing is, fixing the problem probably would require a major overhaul of the engine, which is a lot of work, and would probably cause other much more major bugs in the process, so this option isn't really realistic but even if they can't fix the problems, they can always hide the symptoms (which is less than ideal programming but hey, they don't really have a choice).
Other option is to keep it as it is.

Volvo pls
Basically they implemented it the way it is in WC3 as an AS buff but because of the AS bug, it basically never actually gives you bonus AS because the buff drops off before your next attack begins.

Btw, the MoC bug is even worse. Now there's entire procs of MOC not even being applied. No extra swings etc but you can see the cooldown being activated in the first place and the MoC buff.

LMAO
"oh okay lets just make the entire thing not work that ought to be better" volvo pls indeed.

Is it me,or is the MoC proc rate being super duper low? Yes i know there's the RNGesus factor, but the proc rate is extremely low. We need someone to parse say taking 1thousand attacks and count the proc rate. It's definitely not what Valve say it is on the tooltip

It's maybe not true that they need to fix it, but I would consider the WC3 Dota behaviour for attack speed changes to be strictly more intuitive and superior in all situations.
And all this talk of having to massively overhaul the engine to fix it is kind of disappointing to me. Wasn't this a large part of the point of Dota 2? To be able to break away from the engine limitations of WC3?
How does anyone even know it's that big of a deal? (other than the fact that they haven't done it after all this time)
|
MoC is completely broken right now. Actually just tried it. It doesn't work half the time it goes off, lol

You're essentially redesigning a skill entirely because it can't work in the source engine or redesigning the source engine some how to fix the attack speed problems. Then when you redesign it you have to make sure you can parity it back to the wc3 engine. Very shitty position for valve to be in right now

Also their own fault. Its not like they couldn't have figured this out months ago when we had LC's textures and even abilities added to the game.

I'm not at home, but guessing by this chat the patch isn't out yet?

That would seem correct.
I mean, I'm not home either but this thread will blow its top when the patch hits.

or was the hero not released for months because valve cannot find a solution to the attack speed problem...

Which clearly explains why less than 12 hours before they promised to release the hero they are testing different methods of implementing her 3rd skill...
I mean if they are resigned to not changing how attack times are calculated at least they could wait until they have a working solution for LC before trying to release her lol.
