Cecek, you didn't read.
Bat jungle: Afk jungle for 6 + Blink, then use that to gank with Blink + ulti.
LC jungle: Afk jungle for 6 + Blink, then use that to gank with Blink + ulti.
Both also rely on teammates to make their ult-ganks successful. Both use a single-target, extremely close range disable that goes through Bkb to gank.
As the game progresses there is more divergence but for the jungle stage, the way they fit into a team comp is very similar.

I guess the jungle and the first gank is similar for LC and Batrider. For that point on, I don't see how the two heroes have a similar impact on a game at all.
|
Yango wasn't claiming the impact was the same, just that the influence was similar (whereby the opponents can't be alone in a lane with LC off the map anymore than they can be with Bat off the map). It could have been worded better but Yango isn't calling the heroes similar he's describing the outcome of jungling them as comparable.

There is definitely something wrong with how Moment of Courage works in Dota 2
I just tested jungling her in DotA (in 6.79c of course) and in DotA I never dropped anywhere near to dangerous hp while jungling her, whereas in Dota 2 I have to use PTA constantly just for the regen and even still I'm dangerously close to dieing at times
in DotA I could kill a hard camp at level 3 with 2 points in MoC and 1 in PTA without breaking a sweat, in Dota 2 that leaves me on the verge of death
in general when I jungle LC in Dota 2 it feels like im half hp most of the time

its been said already taht shes not working correctly cuz of bigger issues

Just another onto the huge list of bugs that will prob never get fixed :<

DotA 1 MoC is basically a 0.5s max AS + lifesteal buff when it procs. This means you can proc it while switching targets or if you're not in melee yet, and you will generally get about half an attack extra of the attack speed (and sometimes 2 attacks of lifesteal if the proc timing was lucky)
DotA 2 MoC gives you an extra attack against your current attack target, meaning the proc is WASTED and goes on CD if you are currently not attacking something (e.g. switching targets) and will never give you a 2nd attack of lifesteal/AS.

Phoenix is going to be even more busted than he already is with that bug if they try to release him with it in the game.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dota 1 is changed to reflect this change. Or if they just kept the diference and adjusted values. If you look at the Dota 1 ability description, it kinda makes more sense for it to behave this way anyway.
|
It's not a problem with the skill, it's a problem with how ALL AS buffs/debuffs in the game work on attacks in progress.
Even if they fudged LC, its going to be really hard to do Phoenix's Fire Spirits in a way that doesn't make him even more broken than he already is.
|
I know, but it's not as big of a deal for other heroes and I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to deal with Phoenix individually when the time comes as well. It's consistent with some other decisions they have made in the past.
For Tresdin specifically, I think it makes sense to keep the extra attack instead of the bonus attack speed, but it would be nice if it didn't go into cooldown if you weren't attacking anything. It would make the skill a bit closer to the original at least.

Yep. This is the real problem. There is a good thread on the dev forum showing exactly what he's talking about using Naix and Enchantress. Using Rage after the first swing at Untouchable Enchantress should allow you to swing again at your normal attack speed after your normal swing timer cools down, but instead you have to wait for the massive cooldown from your slow ass first swing. Untouchable should be dispelled by magic immunity (and you can see that if you Rage first you swing normally), but the IAS calculations don't update properly or something. That's the bug. It very much affects LC and MoC (and I guess Phoenix, but I have no experience there).

Based on the description of the skill, it seems like it is working correctly more so in dota 2 than the original. If the damage or life stolen is considered too low compared to the original version than maybe they could make an adjustment later. But getting to lifesteal off multiple attacks is clearly not what the skill describes.

Yeah, not putting it on cooldown if you're out of range would seem like a good idea.

Phoenix is affected the same way as he basically has a targetable 140% AS reduction. Which basically gets extra mileage out of attacks in progress retaining the slow attack speed even when the buff ends or they go magic immune.
|
It's a strong 4s debuff, so it lasting for an extra attack after it ends can be quite meaningfull.
People were talking about how this had to be fixed before porting LC, but I honestly think the way it works now is a good alternative, except for the wasting the skill if you are not attacking anything part.
|
The dev forum proposed solution is probably the best compromise, where instead of getting the proc immediately, you get an "on next attack get a free attack" buff that lasts 0.5s. So you can proc it even when you're not attacking something and still use the proc, but don't have any of the weird extra attack speed issues.
|
Although you still lose any double lifesteal shenanigans that may or may not have been intentional in dota 1 but were balanced around regardless...

- Fixed various issues with Moment of Courage. From the test client update.
Someone should see how this works now.

They still need to fix that bug at one point. Now would be a good time to do it no ?
|
Seriously i am very disappointed. LC is now super weak due to that bug. It's currently pretty unusable in the jungle.
I guess I shall have to Lane LC. Please please fix it before main client release. It's so nerfed right now.

I shall go test now. See if it is fixed, brb

I know everyone is complaining about it being weak, but do most people agree that you really should not get two attacks with lifesteal when MoC procs? Even if it did so in the original, it seems like it shouldn't if possible.
