I do recall a certain rule before in WC3 Dota where you're limited to buy Necro books up to 2 per team. They had that rule on other items too, I think on sheepstick as well. Both WePlay and WPC have had tonnes of Necrobook's being bought over the past week. Im not really that bummed out by it. We see sheep stick and force staff a lot too. At dat blink dagger. Some its are just good on some heroes.

They need to get someone to fix the Dota 2 bots. I know they're just bots, but using them as practice/to introducing a new player is completely poopy.

The bots are fucking retarted and couldn't defend a tower if their life depended on it. They get caught out of position with the other bots or just walk into 5 enemies. They don't have the ability to assess if there are to many enemies and often just walk in to get alpha striked. It means that if the enemy bots start to push, they will likely get 4 kills with each tower. Teaching new players with them is a chore, because the friendly bots are so bad on defense.

To those that say brood isnt picked - shes not in CM. Read up nerds.

Inability to react to some spells which are game breaking. For example they will never reach to jakiro's spells, so have fun watching your entire team get frozen by 1 ice path and burning in macropyre.
2. Enemy team bots move as a single unit in the mid-late game and chain stuns perfectly, but your team just wanders around doing whatever the fuck they like. I had a necro bot steal aegis from under my nose and proceed to go NC while the enemy was pushing our tower with me pinging like mad.
3. "Doing Roshan!" then stand clumped up at the rosh pit staring at roshan, while you try your best to bring down his health, frantically pinging him in the process.
This is just the icing on the shit sundae that is Dota 2 bots.
Before someone says I'm stupid for playing with bots: I know I can play solo queue, team queue, co-op, even go normal bots, but I'm just saying. If they are serious about bringing in more new players (which I am not) they need to get it to at least be functional. At the moment it's broken beyond belief.

Medium bots are okay because the other team is as retarded as yours.
I'd argue that if you're trying to bring someone new into the game, having them on a difficulty above normal is counterproductive because viper lion lanes with perfect response times will crap all over them.
If someone's good enough to play with hard bots, they're probably good enough for MM or at least co-op.

teaching new players with bots is almost counterproductive. the enemy bots play solely five man doto with instant reaction chain stuns throughout mid-game. it's probably better throw them into newbie pubs where they can learn via mutual stupidity and acclimate to the tendencies of human players. plus the default suggested items are usually crap. valve should default the item/skill guide to a community-made newbie guide (also, a lot of new players do not notice/remember where the guide button is).

Bot matches are still required if they know nothing about dota. They have to learn how to buy stuff, build items and how that map works. The tutorials can do that, but it's worthless if they want to play with a friend and be taught dota.
There is no right way to learn dota, anyways.

You could just cut the trees down and go in. Happened a few times in ACE league last year when the Chinese were still playing dota 1.

If you want teach someone new dota, you should just create a custom game without bots and let them PvE the creeps and get a hold of the mechanics and stuff.

That's actually decent. And then tell them to try and farm at least 100 cs in 20 minutes in a custom lobby. 100 at 20 isn't great, but at starting mmr levels you will be ownage.

I said this before but if you manage to out last hit the hard/unfair bots you will probably destroy everyone at lower mmr.

Yeah surely just playing co-op bot solves the problem.

from what i've seen bots are a lot smarter than the humans in question lol

It's gonna take new people hours and hours to get 100 at 20. Good luck at telling people to play one single scene hours and hours, you're trying to make people hate dota.

I don't mean for them to sit there for hours and hours, lol. Treat it as something you practice maybe once a day, and it would be a great help for newer players imo.

I really should practice that as well. I'm pretty awful.

Sometimes I go into a custom lobby and pick AM or Luna and just farm for 30 minutes, lol. It's actually great practice if you're like me and find it kind of fun
