i would like to see more resources poured into servers (dealing with the issues that SEA and SA servers are having), finishing systems implemented into the game with little thought towards them actually being effective, fun and useful (TMM, Guilds, Mentor system, Ranked MM hueh, item eligibility system) and probably the biggest one, fixing the mountain of bugs that exist in game. thing is that you have to have a single dedicated team for fixing bugs--not more than that otherwise you have the potential for developing two entirely different versions both with some bug fixed but something fundamental altered.

Reminder that most of the bugs aren't true bugs
Further reminder that its not a bug, its a feature

Its only because its trying to be an exact port of WC3 that those are even 'bugs'
thats why i don't think they're real bugs.

I don't think Valve really intends on having DotA 2 to keep perfect parity with it's Wc3 counterpart. They allow for some things that just weren't there in the other.

The idea is that when people say there are "mountains of bugs", they mean it in a way that is supposed to reflect poorly on the quality of DotA 2 as a product--which is unfair because were it any other developer that didn't care to try and make the game as close to the original as possible, nobody would count them as bugs. They only are such because Valve wllingly chose to shoulder the burden of making a faithful copy of the original. If you choose to treat every parity issue as a bug with all the negative connotations associated with the term, then you are judging Valve unfairly for not fixing them because no other developer has been judged this way because no other developer as attempted to faithfully reproduce the original like this when making a sequel.

Sometime you just gotta stir dat pot... :D

And yet everybody was perfectly willing to complain about that batrider firefly vision "bug" (maybe i should call it an "inconsistency?") when it was around. Nobody was afraid to call it a bug.
I understand the situation, but you can't just pretend that these inconsistencies don't exist or that they should be there. They shouldn't exist, but they do. So they are bugs.
I'm not really flaming valve, I don't give a shit either way. I played absolutely minimal dota 1. But they are bugs.
Pot = Stirred.

Back to Dreads stream: Xboct playing Invoker. Xboct: "How do I invoke tornado? "W W Q." Xboct "No its Q W W you idiot!" "You can do it in any order you like..." Xboct: "Really? Fuck this hero, I dont want to press so many buttons!"

Some of them shouldn't exist. Some of them don't really matter. Sure, Batrider's vision was a fairly big deal, but I don't think anyone really cares that much that cogs don't give souls to SF. When people say theres hundreds of bugs that need to be fixed, they are not talking about the much smaller list that affects gameplay in any meaningful way.
I doubt it's Valve's intention to eliminate all bugs, if you expect that you will probally end up dissapointed.
