Following the success of MLG's North American Dota 2 League and the upcoming Fall Invitational tournament at Full Sail University, MLG will be rolling out an extensive NA Dota 2 league in the first half of 2014 with $210,000 in prize money. Beginning on January 6, 2014, North American teams will compete via the MLG: Play system, culminating in a $150,000 Finals event at the Anaheim Championships, June 22-24, the first MLG championship event of the year. Which means that this is kinda the first serious 3rd party vindication of valve's ticket system. AFAIK all the other tournaments kinda boiled down to "lets run a dota tournament" -> make it happen. They were all "partisan" organizations that chose dota 2 because its "their game". MLG chose it because its profitable. Thats progress (to me). PS: re EE bm pauses who cares. Re: If loda did it blah blah blah no lol you guys are clueless. Nobody would even post if loda did it. | ||

I read that as the opposite. Because it's EE people are pretty cool with it, but had it been Loda it'd be full-on pitchfork mode. Which would be dumb. Pitchforking is dumb. Let's please not do it. I visited r/starcraft today and now I want to play nothing but single-player games for the rest of my life. | ||
