Let's just say good russian players won't let you notice that they are russian. Or many of them can only play very limited amount of heroes but they still random and yolo with that (and probably is also the fault of vodka too).

I like that Valve decided to unlock all heroes for everyone all the time. It will be good if the players doesn't have to play with a limited hero pool, so that they can discover what they like

To use an example from when I started playing SSF4AE, I picked Juri completely randomly, and as I started paying more and more, I noticed that she just fit me. People say that she is not an easy character play with and although I can understand why people think that way, I doesn't really apply for me (if you take into consideration that I'm not that good at playing the game in the first place )

The problem is not that russians are in average worse than others. But that they have a different play style that may not go well with others. I assume russians in dota1 played mostly among themselves (iccup at least was 90% russian), and that according to my experience can lead to a very weird, inbred style.

[/begin tldr: my dota experience]
When i started playing dota(1), in 2006, we didn't know anything about the pro scene or strategies. We played from internet cafes, and wanted to spend the time we payed for 100% on actually playing, so we didn't even read guides or anything. Combined with that we played on a hungarian only server almost exclusively, and let me tell you looking back at how we approached the game back then, is really funny. I remember, the standard was solo top lane (from both sides (so solo offlane sentinel and solo safelane scourge)) and dual mid, and if someone went to the wrong lane, everyone was flaming him, cause we thought this is the only way dota could be played. We did a ton of easy mode because we thought the only difference is that the game is faster, so ultimately you just get to play more right? And since players moving to our server from others was very rare, no one ever told us how retarded we were (and we just thought he is the noob anyway).
[/end tldr]

My point is, russians have their own approach to this game, (gogo attack push go kill go kill attack go), which can actually be a lot of fun in my opinion (I like to play russian doto as well sometimes), but can be counter productive, and since constant fighting gets your adrenaline level high, people tend to be more tense, and argue when things go wrong (anyone who never got mad when he missed a close kill should step forward and throw the first stone).

So yea, all in all playing with russians is a toss-up. Sometimes they snowball, and game is fun, sometimes they get behind, and then the flame wars begin. They play high risk high reward, which is fine, but when you do that you should be ready to deal with the situation when it doesn't work out.

I'd rather have a Russian that wants to fight all the time than someone who farms on his own and does nothing the whole game while the rest of the team loses 4v5.

One of the most ridiculous but fun games I played was vs a Russian 5-stack. A few weeks after I wanted to download and rewatch it but it the replay had expired already

Russians are no more retarded than anyone else the difference is they speak Russian while being retarded so they stand out. I've played with just as many horrible English people, I personally would prefer tighter MMR distribution in matches over region locking.

The problem is not with the Russians, it is with the type of person who will willingly play on a server where they do not know the language of anyone else. If someone will happily forsake the core element of teamwork needed in a team-oriented game, do you really expect them to perform well? If a bunch of Spaniards went and played on the Russian servers, I'd imagine they'd be equally maligned by the Russians.

The people who manage to communicate even with language barriers, whether by pinging or the chat wheel, tend to be good players on any server.

I think you don't want tight mmr, but locked playstyles. Going allout aggression is equally viable as playing a defensive farm game, but some people only like 1 of the 2 styles and get very sad when their team doesn't play that way.

I love playing with non-English speaking people
I can be a retard and only receive admonishment in the form of "puta", "сука" or "noob"
Winning always feels like a more significant achievement when it's done with only pings and chatwheel
I've even learned like 3 phrases in Spanish

With Chinese people I have literally no idea what they are saying at all. They can't even all caps anything. Makes the game way less emotional and easier for me to focus on my own play

With a red color the sword would look like the Monado.
