Bonus points if you use your courier to pick up the OoV to deliver to you so you can proc it again when it runs out. Turns out Manabreak will override the OoV anyway. Perhaps you use your first hit with OoV, then level up mana break to use that?
These are some next-level tactics right here. Here's an idea, can you buy the OoV from the side shop, attack with it then sell it back for full price immediately after?

I predict this thread is about to go through a stupid period again.
See ya on the other side guys.

Hit, blink back, and sell the OoV again for free dmg PROFIT.

Thats a good way to speed up a solo rosh. You just buy a hyperstone/demonedge, sell it 8sec later, rinse and repeat

I thought OoV was a buffplacer and not an orb? Or is that only the Skadi?

If only OOV doesn't use up 1 slot.

OoV is good in situations where you will get to use it a lot. The thing is, a freefarm melee carry will not get to use it before they want to ditch that slot for other items, and most melee mids don't right-click things enough for it to matter.
LD is just not slot-constrained so he can hold onto OoV for a long time, and Slark actually is a much more fight/gank oriented hero than most auto-attacking melees so he gets real mileage out of the item.

It has bugged interactions with a lot of things right now, though.

I hate linkins as an item. Every time I get it it seems to do way less than you expect that it should
Its like that whole "oh spell block is awesome, and stats, and regen, whats not to like?" But then you kind of see it in play. I dunno. I think the item is VERY overrated and should almost never be a first buy on any hero.

At least end with "of them all?"
Come one bro get your fairy tales right.

A lot of heroes are good with Linken's, it's just a general farm item for mana-dependent heroes (and often favored for ones with split-pushing ability) or heroes that use +all stats well. Essentially heroes that can use +15 Int +150% mana regen to spam nuke creep waves/jungle camps to flash farm or splitpush.
The main thing is that for its stats, Linken's is a weak fighting item, so buying a Linken's usually implies you aren't going to fight until +1-2 more items.

I really like Linkins on Storm as a third item if you've built up a load of Bloodstone charges and already have a good 2nd item (Orchid, Sheepstick). Makes him a pretty good splitpusher once his ability to solo-kill has diminished somewhat.

I think its worth noting that its situationally a pretty good item for heroes that split push heavily and have a good escape mechanism that uses a lot of mana (your morphlings, storms, qops [of course those are more rare]) It's a good farming item, but it also makes it pretty hard to sheep / orchid these heroes before they can get away. Obviously this ties back in to being a farming item, but just something I like to note.
Or at least that's what I tell myself.

The linkens sphere really shines in small skirmishes, where the fight may be prolonged and regen and a balanced stat pool are particularly important. Right now in the metagame, pretty much every fight after 12 minutes is a 5v5 with global presence being such a big deal, so I struggle to justify getting the orb anywhere except when I plan on carrying my baddy friends.

That is a good point. Linkens is good when you can do linkens+1 or 2 items. Currently the metagame doesnt allow that.

since when does 95%+ of pubs conform to or follow the current metagame?
