I use z,x,c,v,space, and one of my mouse buttons for the items. I always put Mek/bottle/drum on space, and then my Euls/sheep/abyssal on the mouse button. Z is typically my boots, and then from there it is what it is. v always seems to be my wand though lol. The thing is that from WC3 I have my hero on F1 and the courier on F2. Also I have deliver items to F3 and Select all other units on F4 (though might change that for just 2 as I have been having issues with it for a while now). | ||

h b space m5 v f which is completely retarded but its so harrrrrrrrddddd to switch to something reasonable. (and yes h is awful in particular) I set them based on hotkeys I had used for similar-ish itemslots in previous games, and some just for dumb stuff (h for heal, b for boots) but ya its totally, totally awful. dont like the alt qweasd though, so waiting on some other brilliant layout :D | ||
