Nah man he's a tri lane specialist waiting for someone to tap his potential. Catch three enemy heroes with fatal bond while your three are buffed up with chilling touch and its over. Not really.... maybe? Fatal Bonds + Chilling touch + politely asking your opponents to stand still while you rightclick them! Unbeatable trilane combo. Ah, I was thinking of running that kind of a trilane against a triple alchemist self stun lane.

Oh god just played vs a pl and kotl dual lane... never again.

Worst thing is the downfall of Lycanthrope. He is at the weird spot where he spikes hard before 30 minutes and falls down afterwards, but he is completely useless on lane. Wolves need armor after all.

no im going to make a hugely controversial statement and say that invoker is a worse loss to competitive dota than lycan

I dont think anyones really perfectly happy with where lycan is but I also dont think anyone wants to go back to the dark days of 550 hp lvl1 wolves or w/e it was.

He's a bit underrated, IMO, but I'm not sure how great he fits into the current style of play. I feel like teams could make him win if they draft correctly.

Losing half of your golems for 10 minutes isn't really an issue. and its something they had to spend thousands on.

So, wtf am I supposed to do if the enemy team counters my Meepo with Eartshaker ? I played only 5 Meepo games and in 2 of those the last pick of the opposing team counterpicked me with ES.

It's not like diffusal blade is a sole purpose item - Na'Vi often used to draft juggernaut or PL against a warlock pick and get a diffusal blade earlier. I mean, you are talking about a hero where 90% of the hero is his ultimate that has a long cool down being INSTANTLY killed by one charge of an item that can continue to be used throughout the fight. I mean, there are other disadvantages to this hero, but not mentioning diffusal seems a bit silly.
It's not that insane.

He's probably one of the highest skillcap hero that is really rewarding to watch (and play). He definitely enriches doto.

Warlock has quite a few problems but one of the biggest ones right now is simple
he doesn't handle splitpush.

The secret of lycan is to draft a good defensive trilane with treant and whatever strong defensive support but in fact lycan is jungling with living armor and treant is farming safe lane while the support is pulling. You are then miles ahead of the ennemy team!! Carry treant + howl, those right clicks!

and warlock isn't 90% golem, that's just ignorance about how effective fatal bonds truly is as well as the stun initiate and about his overall damage from his autos.

Invoker needs a tad more base dmg (and lower the +dmg on Exort orbs in return so he would have the same dmg as now with 3x lvl 1 Exort) and a way to make EMP not completely nullified by Arcane Boots (think AA ult but for mana instead).

Giving invoker +3 base damage and -1dmg per exort orb would be a HUGE nerf.
Any change like that would just be a larger and larger nerf.

I'm happy with invoker as he is right now, maybe have the alacrity orbs give .33 armor per rank per orb in addition to the flat agility for ranking the skill, if anything at all.

Winning the fight puts you further ahead in the game, and gives you more map control, and generally makes warlock less effective as a whole (less likely to find the room to farm an aghs / refresher anyways). Essentially, if you don't do a lot with your first 2-3 golems, chances are you aren't going to win the game.
I'm not saying I would build a diffusal on any carry if I saw a warlock, but I'd be more inclined to draft a hero where diffusal is situational if I saw a warlock pick.

Diffusal just isn't a big deal to deal with as warlock. period. Its a non-issue and putting a bandaid on a stab wound.
the enemy carry shouldn't even HAVE a diffusal for the first two offerings, and the third one only if its rushed, and the warlock decides to go use it ON the carry. (the rock being dropped on the carry in that situation will still end up causing that carries death though).

he doesn't handle splitpush. How many support can handle splitpush lol? In the world of cc and gank, warlock is trash. IF should fix him by giving him a cc like other 100 heroes.

It's literally the entire hero (unless the gyro / spectre on your team get 4 items).
