Heroes are certain ways purely for diversity and for the designer's vision. Dragon Knight is the only hero that has a long stun along with an aoe nuke. Drawback: mediocre rightclick damage and the stun is melee range.
For example there was a time when vengeful spirit's missile had 1.75 seconds stun on every level. But the great designer didn't like only 1 skillpoint in magic missile being viable, so he scaled the stun duration back a little. lina's stun duration doesn't scale or? her passive is shit tell that to dendimon. when dendi plays 5th position he can talk about how to play support heroes. He wasn't playing a support. Yeah thats his point. Dendi never talked about how to play a 5th position hero. He played Lina with Fiery Soul and did well. I assume that's the original reference. clearly a support lina should do like dendi

Actually, when VS had 1.75s stun at all ranks, she was pretty much first-pick all the time in that version of the game (Wave of Terror was a lot stronger then too).
The change was just one of a few successive tweaks he made to her over several versions.
With regard to Dragon Tail, it's in a very good spot, I have no clue why you'd want that skill tweaked. It's good on 1 rank, but also situationally good to put more points into (after Breathe Fire and Dragon Breath are maxed, obviously) based on the game. It has flexibility in how you skill it, which is a good thing.

I opened my very first 5 chests (to celebrate TI3) and got unusual feezle feez, thats some luck ! Should I sell it right now, or wait for some months / years ? If I understand it right, it can only be dropped from TI chests, and so will be more rare in the futur ?

Breathe Fire and Dragon Breath? When did DK get 2 AOE spells you meant Dragon Blood? The armor skill?

S'up. 2-8 as "pubstomper" Riki
Yeah...that invisibility = invincibility thing really doesn't seem to work for me. :-\
I've got other bad ones but most of those with a decent number of games on are heroes I actually play ok on but appear to be cursed. I'm 1-9 on Puck for example; I actually seem to do ok but it seems like either we lose a close game or my team just goes, to put it in SC2 terms, "full foreigner" when I pick it.

Just got a trapjaw, first unusual courier unbox ever. Frick yeah, it's not the one i was hoping for but i'm happy.

They're not strong in lane, require their 2nd/3rd major item to really come into maximum effectiveness, and are not good at playing from behind.
People remember their AM/PL wins in pub games but I would argue that for the most part, pub games won on AM and PL were not won by AM or PL, but by the other 9 players in the game (and yes, that could include the enemy being inept). I often tell my team "Look guys, we have PL. All we need to do is give him enough room to farm a heart and another damage item and he will rip out the other teams soul. He will become the beautiful death-flower we wanted him to be. They have Blood Seeker and he is a chump. We just need to no die for about 25 minutes and we will win this with style. PL, stay the fuck away and play Diablo until you have a Heart. Don't help us, we are dead to you." Normally, we win after that as long as no one becomes super dumb.
If someone pick-random PL-AM-Void you're screwed. Because Pub Game =No tp, no coordination, minimal map awarenes. Getting 3rd item on these heroes are extremely important but in pubs there is no option like that.
But.. Be a man and increase your teams game knowledge by yourself. Increase their communication, Increase their farming speed by %50-100. There is only one hero can increase his allies game fundamentals. You can even force them to do right things.
Yes. You can do it and you can do it alone! All you need is....
+ Show Spoiler +
I have %62 winrate with him. Yeah. If someone pick a extremely item dependant hero, just pick kotl. No one can push you, no one can mess with your carry at laning phase (AM, and void has blink already, PL-Kotl.. Well thats über combo and the most important things is, with average game knowledge you can force your teammates for counter initiate, force them to use their mana freely, force your farm dependant hero to carry a tp.
Be a man and pick Gandalf!
My worst heroes. 1-5 venge 1-6 Sven 1-5 weaver. Meh....

My antimage is 3-12, OD is 0-7, WD 0-5
I usually have absurd winrates at some heroes and then shitty ones at the other heroes.

What exactly causes an abandonment and how big a deal is it? I I was out a few minutes and when I reconnected it told me I had abandoned, but it let me play the rest of the game anyway. Sorry for noob question

Sorry for noob question I think if you DC over 4 minutes it counts as abandonment. Unless everyone else on your team leaves or the game ends first.

Ah thanks, I guess my internet was out longer than I thought. That's a shame.

Sorry for noob question Being afk (not getting xp for 5min) gets you an abandon, or being the first to leave game before it ends. Not a big deal at all unless you have OCD and are forever haunted about not having 0 abandons.

My internet was stuttering for a bit before cutting out entirely so I was hanging out in base. Thanks

I I was out a few minutes and when I reconnected it told me I had abandoned, but it let me play the rest of the game anyway. Sorry for noob question There is the simple question thread for that, but here is a freebie. You get an abandon after 5 minutes of being disconnected. If you get several abandons you are put into low priority queue, which is rumored to be really crappy.
As for being good with certain heroes: My hypothesis is that every hero excels if played certain ways depending on the hero. The heroes you have good win ratio with are the ones you play one of the good ways. Mana management, item choices and positioning in ganks and teamfights do make or break a hero. I have come to that conclusion from trying to play Slardar similar to Nightstalker, PA similar to Riki, Enchantress similar to Chen, Nature's Prophet jungling similar like Enigma. You would think that if urn is good on one hero it is good on other heroes that seem similar. The differences can be enourmous. A playstyle that gives you a 9-1 record on 1 hero can lead you to a 3-7 record on another hero.

How well can you other guys play in heavy lag/stuttering connection?
Sometimes my internet becomes... intermittent. I get like 1 frame server response every .5 seconds on average, and it becomes incredibly difficult to play. However, I've noticed I can actually play somewhat under these conditions. While I cannot play optimally, and last hitting creeps is out of the question, I can often contribute to fights, landing abilities, and even occasionally get kills. Is this similar to other's experiences?
Also, on a marginally related note, sometimes my ping is great, and the connection seems fine, 0% packet loss. But then when I click to move somewhere, it takes over a second before I visually start to see my character move. This doesn't happen all the time, and is subtle when it does happen, so much that I sometimes wonder if I had even clicked at all. But I can tell when it happens and it's incredibly frustrating. Anyone else have any guesses as to what causes this or how I can tell for certain whats happening?

I don't know why it happens, I just dismiss mine as shitty internet.
