Dota is too complex to learn it in few days. You need to know every single hero/spell/item/etc to watch it properly with some kind of understanding and knowing LoL doesn't really help that much.
Why do you have to know every spell / item in order to enjoy it?
I enjoyed watching soccer / football before I understood (understand) what offsides was and any intricacies of the plays and players. I enjoyed watching dota before I knew shit about it.
God. Is it just me or does Twich lag every evening for 3-4 weeks now. My connection seems fine. Can watch full HD on youtube without problems, but twitch is unwatchable for me in every resolution I can find. The preview images of streams always take ages to load and the game browsing site too. But only the featured streams. The small ones with 50 viewers work fine for the most part.

You're in Europe. Expect to be treated like shit if you try and use Twitch. I have the same problem.

It worked really fine 3-4 weeks ago. Was only lagging a bit when LoL had 200k viewers going. And then I heard of new servers in Sweden and got excited that it will get fixed before TI3. Seems like these servers dont work properly.

You don't need to know dota to have fun watching it. That is why I wrote to guides. You can just watch and clap when shit dies.
Apparently this commercial Swedish TV station is going to be showing the International. It also has a page that shows every swedish parcipant and what team they're in and what role they are playing along with a bunch of info on the game (common terms, basics, etc.) And according to someone in the Reddit thread
If you have a TV in sweden it's very likely you have TV6.

STV is constantly airing something e-sports related. StarCraft 2 just last weekend. Less people on Twitch and in-game can't hurt.

SVT = state owned = free.
Market penetration really doesn't matter though. It's about if it makes commercial sense for them to run it. For SVT this doesn't really matter all that much. It doesn't cost them a whole lot to cover Dreamhack, and they get decent viewership.
If it is successful for a commercial company that's a much bigger deal, although I have my doubts it will be.

From what I gather what it sounds like they are doing is.
1. Covering the weekend portion. Doesn't sound like they will do more than last 2 days. 2. Broadcasting both on the TV channel and their online version. (many Swedish channels have online channels as well)
What I'm going to guess from information I can find.
1. They're using the official English casting and part of the analysis desk stuff. 2. They're going to have their own studio setup with Drayich and whoever their host is. 3. Hellspawn will be on-site in Seattle, presumably doing interviews like he did for Rakaka.
Will be interesting to see what they do, although I'm not in Sweden and can't watch it.
I'll try to make the Swedish TV-thing clear: SVT is a non-commercial (state-owned) network with two channels (SVT1 and SVT2) that everyone in Sweden has access to. SVT have been sending Dreamhack events, both from Jönköping and Valencia.
TV6 is a commercial network that everyone in Sweden has access to, although some people might not be aware of this. I think it's because no other channel from the Viasat company (TV3, Viasat Sport, etc.) is available to everyone for free. TV6 will send The International 2013.
