Bear is already strong enough in 1v1 to be permaban, Bulldog's or not. "Not allowed to ban Druid" would mean that whoever got first pick twice in the Bo3 would win.

Don't ask valve to bastardize dota for your personal whims. How is it bastardizing DotA when all anyone is asking for is options? That's what I clearly don't understand from everyone else from the other side. All your arguments are basically based around anecdotes and opinions.

All of our arguments start with "Well I think that this would happen".

'you are trash unless you consistently show up in the first 10 pages.', someone said that here before, which is about 90% true for the current MM. You dont actually need a visible mmr, what you need is to go print screen all your games against/with dendi/merlini stack etc and make a blog, link it on your steam name, spam people with your 'real mmr' (aka uber huge penile organ) link to them whenever you are mad at them.

League's casual/normal modes work out just fine. I love the backhanded insults from everyone, ranging from you, Plansix, and PrincessXizor. No one asked for 'e-penis contest.' All anyone wants is an option to play semi-serious without abusive admins, which is almost always a problem in IHLs.

Mind you i have no problem whatsoever to have a visible stats, and you dont need me to remind you that everyone was against you (and a few of you who supported that visible mmr). People are simply too lazy to response on this mmr matter nowadays. and for league i have 0 experience, thats why i dont wanna go near there (discussing that 'casual' game here seems pointless imo). While you know how exactly hon's casual mode failed.

It's just that the most vocal are those who want to get their hands held because someone said something mean over the internet. It's funny that you call League a casual game when pretty much everyone argues against having a ranking system is exactly that, a casual gamer. TL;DR The only argument against visible stats that I have seen so far is "I don't want someone to be mean to me over the internet" when that happens regardless of visible stats or not.

I think it goes beyond "being mean" - it goes into effectively ruining games or FORCING them into roles they might not desire because their public rating is visible. I have never really bought into the idea that public MMR had much of a point to it other then for purposes similar to this, or to compare yourself to other people so you can prove you are "better". Private MMR can accomplish this more or less anyways.

See the big thing is, if you want visual rankings, go play on ICCUP. OR make your own damn ranking system. There is no reason to segregate valves MMR system into "people who want to be ranked" and "scrubs who don't play ranked" because thats what it is and what it'll become. it was that way in League, it was that way during the IH frenzy vs Bnet Games in dota. Its how things work. there is no damn reason at all to add ranking to PUB MATCHES. that's the dumbest thing ever. Trying to make a ranking system based on an impossibly large pool of players means nothing. inherently your elo/rank means NOTHING. when you are in a pool of 100 players like starcraft you are relatively better than those 100 people but it still means nothing. when you are in the top 100 players overall it begins meaning something, but guess what. you aren't in that top 100 superstar you aren't. so for you it doesn't matter. in IHLs it matters because getting to top of IHLs means something. and enables you access to other IHLs that even have prizes for that. because you are playing entirely within a pool of players you can accurately judge how good you are in comparison. it doesn't apply with matchmaking. just stop asking for something that can only decrease the enjoyment of dota 2.
