If your team is actually willing to fight, or you're ahead enough that real combat items will give you enough strength to solo-kill those will both be better.

I'd rather have a faster Drums/Vlads and have someone else pick it up. - armour / manaregen id rather have that over an early vlads...

Medallion helps with the blowing up part and windwalk covers your lack of armor, allowing you to use medallion at no cost Medallion breaks invis, so you lose that bonus dmg. Yes, a Jinada + some right clicks with the -6 armor will hit harder overall, but 1k is a lot of gold early on. Edit: ok, I'm gonna math it out.

But with an early BH, you are rarely trying to gank solo and the medallion helps other team mates do damage as well. You can just dump it on them after you break stealth and then nail them with the ministun while they try and run. Then you and the rest of them team can finish them off.

I just played a tiny + brew dual lane that later progressed to roaming and I must say it was the most fun dota I've had in a looooooong time. Just utterly insane if not always effective fighting and ganking the entire time. Any similar pairs of heroes?

why are phaseboots so predominant on Spectre? She already got noclip with dagger, and her low stats grows and general lategame power make her feel more like powertreads for me. Alchemist on the other hand sees a lot of powertreads, but he already got insane attackspeed and lacks mobility. So why no Phaseboots on him?

Another one I found just recently is Lina + disruptor. The damage coming out of those two makes it impossible to even stay inside xp range.. Otherwise you have the usual ones: Jugger + Veno, Veno + Undying, wisp + chaos knight, kotl + PL, etc

TLDR: I should start considering Medallion on BH. Sorry for wasting your time. ![]()

So why no Phaseboots on him? modern spectre usually picks up drums. drums phase plus dagger equals some disgusting chasing power as well as lets her get away from ganks that bit easier. the damage boost is nothing to be sniffed at either and as i mentioned modern spectre's usually try to get drums phase up then snowball mid-game off haunt assist/kill gold, either going back for a radiance or diffu. once a team loses two teamfights to a drums phase spectre game gets really really hard for the losing team.

She already got noclip with dagger, and her low stats grows and general lategame power make her feel more like powertreads for me. The thing is that she's a hero with no actual blink skill and who rarely gets BKB, so having 522 MS is essential for proper teamfight mobility. She has her ultimate to choose an engagement angle, but this is a one-time thing, and in many cases she needs to still engage first without ultimate, and then use the ult later. Treads are situationally OK against teams where you don't need the chasing/power mobility against heroes that will just fight it out against you, but in most practical scenarios you need Phase to get around.
