Usually a bit stiuational, but ideal is when you hit 6 - brown boots, PMS, and a bottle.
Usually, you want something like Phase, Drums, wand/stick, BKB or Vlads (I sometimes build orchid, but its a bit vulnerable), Sometimes a deso, sometimes something like manta.

bf is good in bad pubs were ure better than everyone and u getting the farm faster than ur own team is more likely to make u win...
usually phase or treads / wand / aquila / drums is a pretty good core on bh, you can then get bkb if u need it or a deso if enemy has low armour heroes / 1 shottable supports, deso is most effective when the enemy has ~5 armour. for late game basher into abyssal is pretty good. bh is actually pretty versatile he can get a lot of different items depending on the situation and do well. i also like dagon bh into ethereal.

Urn/Bottle/Aquila/Drum (pick 2-3 out of 4)+Phase/Tranq/Treads depending on the game -> BKB -> Aura items or autoattacking items depending on what your team needs you to do.
In general I'm a big fanboy of Urn, Bottle or not depends on where you're laning and how busy the courier is going to be in the first 10 minutes. Aquila depends on how much mana issues you have left with Urn/Bottle+Drums later on. In general it's a great idea to stack "ghetto items" on BH because all you need is a little help with your burst and survivability in ganks and track gold does the rest.

I went Phase medallion vlads (physical heavy comp with like 3 drums already at that point) AC because i was raking in ridiculous amounts of track gold. BH is nice because just about everything works on him especially if it helps out your team

I have a deep love of urn on any simi-carry. I will put the thing on Windrunner if I have the cash. When I play tusk, I always get it just to be the field medic of the team. Drums is also my go to as well. I might just build him like I do Jugs or Tusk, with maybe a bit more focus on direct damage after that.

diffu gives u int and agi which is pretty nice and it encourages getting manta... diffu has pretty good utility like killing warlock golems or removing positive enemy buffs... it can also be used defensively like removing dust on urself or whatever negative debuff, not to mention diffusal is the biggest counter to ur ally getting hexed, i remember this game an invoker buying diffu won the game coz everytime enemy hexed his void he debuffed it...
bh's item build is mostly fluid...

Only Viper gets bonus range with his Orb, and it is kinda a feature since it wouldn't be hard to remove it.

If you really want regen+dmg it's a great item, the only reason it's "bad" is because people tend to use it solely as a farming item (making BH a useless "carry" since he doesn't scale that well with items) and because there are much cheaper items that essentially do the same thing (lol urn).
Now all you need to find is a situation where you're a protected safelane BH and your team has no one else on who the farm would be more useful between the time you hit 6 and the time your BF+Boots is up. =P

Also, Sange >>> Diffusal. Actually, mass Sange is pretty strong. Daedalus is a must though, as you said.
Oh and go for max Totem + stats with 1 point in Fissure and ~2 in Aftershock.

Why do people get Medallion on BH? I know the item is good in general, lets you Rosh really fast and all, but I really question it on BH. I'd rather have a faster Drums/Vlads and have someone else pick it up.
