As for real 5 position supports like cm, sd and vs, I can't actually see a scenario where you could get a midas before like 15 minutes unless you ignore wards, boots and just pull the jungle for 10 minutes. Even then you are giving up about a mek or force staff which would help you a lote more overall unless the game goes past 60 minutes (and that mek/force would not have won you the game before).

The hero's been a decent pub off-laner since the 6.75 rework. Even though Empowering Haste got nerfed to hell, the base stats buff (+6 Strength +9 base damage gave him absolutely ridiculous level 1 stats) and the Charge buff were both really big (425 MS pre-buff charge was pretty much useless).

Scepter and refresher on him are way too good to pass up and easily can auto-win you fights/games. If you think the game is going to go long as a warlock, getting a midas is an option if you get it fast enough, but I personally would get a fast mek if I had that kind of farm. That said, midas isn't the worst option. As for real 5 position supports like cm, sd and vs, I can't actually see a scenario where you could get a midas before like 15 minutes unless you ignore wards, boots and just pull the jungle for 10 minutes. Dota is not strictly a game of "roles" - warlock has an trait that he can be even more effective once he has a few key items. In many cases, the overall benefit to the team is to have warlock buy those items instead of wards because of how large an effect those items have in team fights. In some situations though, warlock will be better off buying wards. Heroes that make good supports are usually the ones that are versatile, and capable of doing many different actions that a team could benefit from, like sacrificing buying other items in order to plant wards. In warlock's case, it is often more beneficial to the team to not forgo buying items. EDIT: Essentially agreeing, but with bigger words :3

Midas in the correct game can make all the difference. I play a lot of 4 position and tend to just dominate anyone who goes midas by killing them.

Finesthour clearly part of the master race. To Finest, I would probably just remove all the caps around the 5 key and do a good cleaning, water shouldn't do any mechanical damage so, I think you're good to go it's just probably sticky from junk.
