The Chinese teams want to have a chance.

Anyway I'm glad there are no more western teams. It kind of ruins the TI3 hype if we've already seen half the match-ups.

Na'Vi is enough to make this interesting and not 'just another Chinese tournament'.

I hope na'vi keeps up their current style of playing and keeps improving, so refreshing to see them do well again.
From the Ghastly Eyrie I can see to the ends of the world, and from this vantage point I declare with utter certainty that this one is in the bag!

I'm guessing he went full agility and armlet toggled to tank nukes/attacks or something.

Too soon. :D

I think Perfect World must've provided most of the money for this. They want to push their new game in China more. I don't see how someone else would invest so much money in an online tournament like this.

Ruins the TI-3 hype? We've been watching these teams play each other for years ( a majority of them), and we are going to continue to see them play each other for the coming months, that doesn't ruin the hype. There is only so many teams that can play each other and I'd rather watch Alliance vs. LGD over and over compared to Pain vs. Liquid or something else that's going to result in stomp after stomp.

Slark just seems to be dominating games right and left. This morning DK beat RSnake with him, now KP stomps el'Pride with him.

I don't know what game you're talking about, but it isn't Dota.

We don't see top western and eastern teams play each other all the time, and to say that seeing it more wouldn't make it less hype when it happens is just silly and wrong. TI isn't only exciting because it's the biggest, it's exciting because it's the convergence of all scenes.

We just saw it with G1, what are you talking about? And at this upcoming tournament we are not seeing West vs. East. We are seeing East vs. East vs. East with 1 western team. AKA the same thing that we've been seeing for a long time. Again, we could see these team play each other all the time, it'd still be hyped. Seeing it more often doesn't reduce the hype. The hype from TI is the prize pool, is the pocket strats, is the meta gaming. All of that happens regardless of if the teams play each other or not.

I don't agree. There is a lot of hype surrounding "how will East vs West go", "is Navi our only hope, will there be more to join them in the struggle" etc. If we saw this all the time it wouldn't be as hyped.

If anything, G1 gave TI3 even more hype. I don't see how seeing a couple western teams playing a few matches against eastern teams would ruin the hype. Even a Navi vs Alliance match on the big stage would have a lot of hype, and western teams play each other all the time.

We are not even talking about seeing them all the time. It was about a single tournament having a few more western teams ruining TI3 hype.

1 tournament doesn't mean it's something that happens all the time. Chinese teams opening up to the west is a very recent thing. Pocket strats, meta gaming, and prize pool is what's exciting about TI? lol, I don't even know how to respond to that.
If anything, G1 gave TI3 even more hype. I don't see how seeing a couple western teams playing a few matches against eastern teams would ruin the hype. Even a Navi vs Alliance match on the big stage would have a lot of hype, and western teams play each other all the time.
I never said it did. I said I'm glad there aren't more western teams because if this was just a mini international before the international that would, for me, ruin part of the hype. (I suppose you could say BTS World Tour was but that was teams playing 500 ping for $1000). All I said was:

Anyway I'm glad there are no more western teams. It kind of ruins the TI3 hype if we've already seen half the match-ups. Na'Vi is enough to make this interesting and not 'just another Chinese tournament'.

Think it was pretty clear.
