I question how you're getting to level 3 on WR without having a scenario where you should be using a skill. Maybe if you're just lasthitting, and not doing anything to your lane opponent.

Offlane with weak harass? I could see it happening, wouldn't do it personally though. Powershot is too good on the offlane.

Also just saw the WarBanners concept, super nice. Will buy TL Pennant for that for sure.

Wrong thread for this, but no. Firefly is a transformation skill, which is not purged by any form of buff removal. Only by death.

I'd like to add, however, that Nightmare, Ensnare, Eul's, and other skills that turn bat immobile for a long period of time are damn effective at stopping it

So I just got muted because I told people to report the wisp on my team that tethered me and ported me into the enemies fountain. I'm glad valve knows what they're doing.

Yup.

Edit: Wait. I know it prevents the TP while tethered, lemme figure out the actual tether.

Edit 2: From March 2013:
The list I found about the disablehelp command are:

'A19M' - Force staff
'A1TB' - Relocate
'A1S8' - Disruption
'A28T' - Holy Persuasion
'A0EC' - Bloodrage
'A04Y' - Nightmare
'A10U' - Recall
'A21E' - Sprout
'A11N' - X Marks The Spot
'A0OJ' - Astral Imprisonment
'A1S7' - Snowball (bugged in Dota 2 atm)

Valve proves to be smartest company ever. That 3.2 million pick the next hero released. You KNOW people are going to buy like 30 compendiums to pick techies.

Don't like that it's vote based, because I guarantee that many of the mids that would actually be most promising to win it probably wouldn't get voted in.

CTY would probably get the vote. At least among the Chinese teams, there are two things that stand out to me:

1) For the 3 big-name Chinese teams (IG/DK/LGD), when it comes to pure 1v1 mid, the carry players on those teams are no weaker than the mid players. Sylar used to be a mid player, and at the time of 2009's 1v1 tournament, it was said that he was actually the strongest of the 5 LGD players when it came to just 1v1 laning. Zhou and Burning likewise have been noted for their strong ability in tournament 1v1 (even prior to TI2, Zhou was playing 1v1 tournaments on the Chinese DotA 1 ladder). The mid laners on these teams excel in their roles due to their ability to direct the game-flow on tempo carrying heroes, but for a pure 1v1 tournament, they're not necessarily going to be better choices than their respective carry players (but they mid players will get the votes).

2) People always cite that CTY won 2009's 1v1 tournament. They forget that at the time, all the invited pros were playing full-time DotA 2 with no time to practice for a DotA 1 1v1 tournament (Burning actually declined his invite because he felt it would be disrespectful to participate with no time to properly practice)--while CTY was not on a team yet, so he could essentially practice as much as he wanted for that tournament. This is enormously relevant because the relevant pool of tournament 1v1 mid heroes has very little overlap with the mid heroes played in pro games. Skywrath wasn't in DotA 2 yet (so none of the invited pros would have practiced it), and the mid players basically never play heroes like Bane, OD, SD, Broodmother, or Syllabear which are staples of tournament 1v1, let alone common counterpicks like Viper, DS, and Enchantress. You could tell, for example, that 430 was winging it when he was picking comfort heroes like TA and Invoker rather than the strong tournament 1v1 heroes.

People also don't notice that Mu actually placed second in that tournament--while still playing full time DotA 2. That's arguably just as impressive as CTY winning with all the practice time in the world. Yet seeing as people are disregarding Tongfu among the Chinese teams (and he's the least well known of the Chinese mids), he's not likely to get voted into such a tournament, despite possibly being one of the most deserving mid players for it.

It's just an 8 player showmatch. I'm sure you would like an extremelly asian-heavy roster, but honestly it's good if it's a more even split. In the end we would still probally get the mid players of all the top asian teams, which already take up around half the slots. So, unless you believe there is a carry player that should be picked intead of their mid player for a certain team, I don't think that's such a big deal.

It would be a cool tournament even if we get something like a Puppey or Black in there, just to see what happens. It's not a serious tournament anyway.

Should have done 16 player and each team just nominates their own player.

But that's not really the point of it, it's supposed to be community having an effect on the tournament. And it isn't for money so if people want to watch ixmike vs iceiceice so be it.

Also keep in mind some mids will probably decline unless there's no way to avoid it due to contract or valve pressure.

Ex: Dendi
He's got a history of avoiding 1v1s because they are pointless and add no value to himself nor does he care what happens.

Still a good stretch goal.

Black actually won a solo mid tournament in EU back when he was in NextKz, there werent that many participating though. (Before Black played hardcarry he played midlane aswell)
