I mean, even Treant has seen some use!

I think if he is going to be competitively viable, he needs ...well to be scrapped and completely remade.

I mean, even Treant has seen some use! Razor has seen more use than huskar lately, NTH has run him. I actually think Razor has lots of potential but hasn't seen play for whatever reason. His pushing potential is a bit weak, maybe that's why. I think he's a pretty good candidate for a tri core team. I know Chinese teams used to run him in offlane solo situations but I'm not very aware of why or how. He was stronger then IIRC.

I think Razor does have potential, but I think it is used within a very limited capacity. He can be pretty strong early on in getting ganks (with link) and if a hero gets to be too strong, it can potentially work in his favor. Still the hero is iffy and I would like to see him used more often.

Still the hero is iffy and I would like to see him used more often. I think he's really underrated for his utility against naix+luna+gyro. Static link can only be broken by death or a distance between the two heroes greater than 700. Manta and BKB won't remove the debuff. Against heroes like antimage and void you can blink away and break link that way, but against naix + luna + gyro there's little they can do. They need teammates to stun the razor for them. The cool part is that if these heroes use a single target disable like Open Wounds or Lucent Beam on Razor they will still probably not be able to break the link because of Unstable Current's effect. Teams have been seeing the effectiveness of Bane's enfeeble now in lane; put Bane, Razor, and any sort of stun/nukeish support together in a trilane and you can essentially ruin a carry's ability to farm. On April 19 2013 15:17 Shaella wrote: the main problem with razor is how damn reliant he is on link to do his damage output I don't think that matters. If you draft for razor I don't think you use him as a primary or even secondary damage dealer. In a three core team (like how LGD.int run their teams, or NTH, or Empire with Funn1k, or Fnatic.EU, or the TL/Dig teams, or some Chinese/SEA teams) Razor doesn't need to do damage. He just needs to make sure the enemy carry doesn't do damage and disrupt as much as possible.

He just needs to make sure the enemy carry doesn't do damage and disrupt as much as possible. it just makes him very reliant on teammates who can effectively lock down enemies for a long enough period for the link to build up high enough If that can be pulled off, Razor can be real dangerous, even if he does have to tank up

In a teamfight if the enemy carry tries to fight, he loses all his damage. You just sit on top of his target and he gets drained. Against heroes like Naix and Luna this forces them to either run away so they can deal marginally reduced damage a bit later while they're getting whacked from behind, or it forces them to stay on their target while getting their damage drained and while Razor still hits them, but even harder. Razor is really a reactionary hero. If you're ganking someone then of course you're guaranteed to have teammates there, so in that instance it's a given that you'll generally have the support for it to work.

I do think that giving him +5 MS wouldn't be unreasonable given the nerf to boots a while back.

Or make it % based or something, the ult is good for hitting creeps in the jungle and I can't really name anything else. I do think that giving him +5 MS wouldn't be unreasonable given the nerf to boots a while back. its the most awesome thing with refresher

Given that your main carry already usually has neither of these things, it starts to become really hard to get enough of all of them on your remaining 3 picks unless your opponent gave you the perfect first-phase draft and gave you like KotL+Nyx+Mag or something ridiculous. right but this has never been a problem with picks like SF or weaver. Each of these three heroes brings something different to the table, but none of them has a hard disable. Razor IMO is a position-based anticarry who is good in team engagements. Plasma field isn't bad at pushing either. He would work best with a pushing lineup, something like trilane/mag/luna or trilane/beastmaster/sylla. Razor is really good with disablers like rhasta and bane or even SD. Disruption will not prevent the link from going through, so if you link --> disrupt into followup you're guaranteed to have razor running around with like +50 damage at least.

I would rather have zeus ult in wtf Anyways, Razor's ult is bad and overlaps with many other abilities like edict or gyro's rockets or clock's battery assault in being best to use vs a solo enemy. There's nothing really unique about the skill except that it targets the lowest HP target which just makes it worse than if it was randomly targeted 95% of the time. Also Razor's completely shit stat gain doesn't help
