This means that the projectile-disjoining component of Phase Shift was partly tied to the Invisibility, meaning that the scenario you're describing depended on whether the enemy has True Sight the same way Invisibility disjoining projectiles depends on the presence of True Sight. Additionally, this only applied to hard-coded projectiles. Triggered projectiles wouldn't be disjoined, regardless. I wouldn't be surprised if Valve just changed Phase Shift to always disjoin projectiles even if you come out because it's a lot simpler that way.

I don't think it was like this always, or am I wrong? I can't confirm it, but I think dota 2 made disjointing projectiles easier. I vaguely recall having to wait until a projectile traveled 70% of its distance before blinking would successfully disjoint it. Now, in dota 2, you can blink right after the projectile flies and it won't track.

You're not truly hidden the way Astral/Disruption hide units since that forces you to lose control of your unit (and you therefore wouldn't be able to end Phase Shift when you wanted). As such, Phase Shift was implemented as Invisibility + Invulnerability. This means that the projectile-disjoining component of Phase Shift was partly tied to the Invisibility, meaning that the scenario you're describing depended on whether the enemy has True Sight the same way Invisibility disjoining projectiles depends on the presence of True Sight. Then I remember wrong, or my memory is convoluted because of the things you mentioned. Triggered projectiles, or at least the most notable one, Sven's stun, are still not disjointed though. I noticed neutrals behaviors are different though between the two games regarding phase shift. In WC3 the neutrals instantly loses all aggro if you phase shift, in Dota 2 they keep it. I guess it's in line with lane creeps keeping their aggro even if the centaurs decided to stun them and run into the FOW when you pull and other similar scenarios.

The following spells can't be evaded via blink: Storm Bolt Mystic Snake Chain Frost Unstable Current Snowball Stiffling Dagger Spectral Dagger Soul Assumption Death Pulse (nether heal nor damage) Scream of Pain Leech Seed (the heal) Spirit Lance Shackleshot Homing Missile Arcane Bolt Concussive Shot http://www.playdota.com/forums/showpost.php?p=4028450&postcount=14 Not sure how acurate it is for Dota 2.

You secure KoTL and as PL get ban/counterpicked, you get sven. Sven alone is also a decent counter to PL/CK(in CK wisp meta) with the cleave cleaning up illusions in teamfight. Definitely not top tier but due to the nature of the hero, sven is being picked quite often just like gyro. The more interesting picks in the last 4 months are more about Lycan and juggernaut as well as the come back of Chen.

I have a hunch that he could be really powerful, but its kind of hard to say, not seeing him in practice Maybe for fast lane pushing strategies. I don't see him picked in any sort of normal build. His ulti being spammable and adding a ton of burst dps is great. The ranged w is good for slows but there's much better things out there I think he's really easy to shutdown.

The ultimate is really strong but you need another big right clicker in your team imo. For example i think OD+Troll would be absolutely insane with the right supports.

In order to make him work, you need to take out many of the BKB disable which are just happen to be top ban/pick right now: Mag, bat, bane, etc... I just cant see how troll could take advantage of it's level 3 huge output damage if teams have option to dodge the lane in competitive games. Will have to see how team utilizing his ultimate though... so far Silencer has not yet been top pick ban despite all of our early prediction. Well imagine how strong he'd make someone like a clinkz who has a damaging orb effect or who builds alot of attackspeed naturally (Tiny) or even just with any other carry, no need to do something so situational, I don't think he'll be a top pick but I can't see him NOT being part of the metagame considering how strong and versatile he can be
