But mainly have the ult do damage, I felt so sad after playing Treant, being in every fight and having like 2/4/2 stats. >_> if anyone has a PD account, go thumb up or comment: + Show Spoiler + http://www.playdota.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1242297 Treant used to be so awesome. I love those eyes. Wet dream of a support. I still think he's in a good spot. he doesn't fit the current meta, but neither does medusa. treant slows the game down and buys time to farm, thats not in vogue now, who cares.

Thanks for the earlier responses. Apologies to DrPandaPhD, although I think you missed the point in my last post (I was saying that when I'm sucking it seems to be because I'm not doing things right; whereas when I think its someone else sucking then it generally appears to be because they're not doing the right thing if you see my meaning). As for this Treant discussion...I dunno. I think I've had four games on Treant and though I remember having fun the first time I played every subsequent time he's just felt uninspiring. The whole invisibility whilst by trees thing was really cool the first time I tried it and it let me get off some ults. But in games since it doesn't feel like he really does much. Frankly to me he feels like a walking ultimate support with a weak ult. >_>

Instead of a lackluster nuke/slow, and pitiful armor, he had a spammable turn-a-tree-into-a-permanent-ward (later buffed to STUN enemies walking by), and an incredible armor that was effectively a free ring of health for your lane. Because of his item independence, and inability to push him out of a lane, he could actually kill people just by ulting them and whacking at them with his branches. They took away his wards because they were obviously OP, and gave him a slow instead. They tried to buff his armor, but then he turned way too passive. At some point, they took the damage off of his ult as well. I don't think he's in a good place right now. He has no offensive capability in a team what-so-ever, and his defense and teamfight is never going to be that effective. I don't even see him as being situationally good. Wards were recently buffed, so I think its time we take a look at the old tree to see if it could be viable again. EDIT: Also, should mention the reason he was so fun. The mini-game of warding/counter warding was changed from normal wards to "hey, I don't remember a tree there...". Turned the fun in being a support to 11.

Also, past couple of days I've been having these really weird, buggy things happen quite frequently, where some stuff simply doesn't show up. Like the projectile of a hero's attack or a spel leffect like spawn spiderlings, the gold gained when I last hit something, the cyclone from eul's scepter, sometimes none of this stuff shows up at all, despite it happening, which throws me off pretty badly sometimes. Anyone else having this too, or just me?

Also it irks me razing doesn't behave the same as in dota1. You could double-tap in dota1 and you had super fast razes. In the video 2009 drops all 3 razes in like 2 seconds ;_;

I think IF needs to just go more extreme with his current form before we throw it out. Something crazy like making his ult have a 20s cooldown and halving the mana cost.

In one of 2009's vids about SF he talks about this and that if you perfectly execute it you get super good timings off it. So basically raze->autoattack->raze->autoattack etc. Supposedly autoattacks cancel the backswing of the raze's casting animation and the casting animation skips the "damage point" or something of the autoattack? Also it irks me razing doesn't behave the same as in dota1. You could double-tap in dota1 and you had super fast razes. In the video 2009 drops all 3 razes in like 2 seconds ;_; Backswings in dota 2 are ridiculously messed up. A lot of spells that shouldn't have backswings do. I don't think raze is one but it's harder to cancel backswings in general in dota 2 imo. Basically the cast time is how long it takes the hero to cast the time, the backswing is how long after the spell goes off their animation continues (you can cancel it with hold position or movement or issuing a different command, like the attack in the example 2009 uses). To see backswings in action, use shift + queue actions (it waits for the backswing to complete). If you really want, here's the current state of backswings in spreadsheet format (also contains the backswing/cast animation times for all heroes) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Av19dIS9ylqYdGpNYVJzZExKWFVQZ21xNE9FWUNpcEE&usp=sharing#gid=0
