First of all, you are not "kind of high level" if you blame it on your teammates. It's not like your opponents is much better than your teammates.
But seriously, stop blaming it on your teammates, it only makes you look bad. You are worse than you think you are, and have a lot to improve on. So try to improve yourself and stop focusing so much on your teammates.
Trust me you think you understand but you really dont. I have gone games where I go insanely positive and then still lose because I get a teamate going 0-15 as a carry and shit talking the whole game I am not saying I do bad because of my teamates and therefore blame my teamates for that I am saying I am doing good but losing because I get trolls on my team and so on.
then get over it and win your next game also don't talk to your team, just use pings and drawings

Well, played a hard ass game as my last game of the night. Was motoring along pretty happily, farming away then my safe lane support DCs with net issues and basically misses the first 10 mins of the game. I keep going, I am OD, soloing vs a VS. This will be no problem, I'm going to have a 5:30 midas, I love my rice. Suddenly wild chen and creeps and I'm 0-3 in just over 10 minutes. Situation deteriorates as the Chen runs up and down map and we're down 1-16 or something absurd though we didn't lose towers. 27 minutes in our weaver has his linkens (yay), our storm is still feeding and I manage to get a force staff + atos. Manage to keep us in the game with several good ultis and because their riki farmed like ass. Our weaver's farm accelerates since other team has to spend everything in fights to kill me and he cleans everything up.
I think it would have been an easier game if I had gone bkb after atos instead of hex but I wanted a murderously powerful ult since our weaver's damage output prospect were slim at that point. We should really have lost at the 30 min mark if their item choices had been better I think....
Why do people say Atos is bad? It's so cost efficient... No recipe, you get more stats than the items put together give, plus the slow active. And the buildup to it is nice.

I got quite close to qualifying to The Defense 3. I am decent at this game. A long time ago when I was quite bad I also used to blame alot of my losses on my teammates. 3000 matches later I realize I have much to learn. Even though I have scrimmed vs quite a few top teams like eL Pride I still think I am not more than decent, because I see my own mistakes a lot more clearly now. The more I learned the more I realized how deep the strategy goes in Dota. Pretty sure it's the same with everything you try to master in life.
Trust me you think you understand but you really don't.
You seriously believe you are the only one who has lost matches you did really well in? I have lost matches I went 24-0 with Storm Spirit ( dotabuff ). Yes it sucks, but it happens. Yet there are always something more to learn from these matches. I could have played even better.
And on the other hand, I have won matches I failed horribly in. Where I got carried hardcore by my teammates. It goes both ways.

I don't think the item is bad. I just don't think OD wants or needs it.

Well, I was thinking of mek but then I wanted the mobility more then I wanted something easy to build up with survivability and damage since we were losing all 3 lanes hard. I also wanted to experiment with it some (since I'd been watching Aui's stream a bit and well, I was kind of resigned to a slow death game).

One step closer to true enlightenment. And ahead of the curve. =D

Or, for those of us who don't have two computers, you can run two instances of steam and thus Dota 2 on one computer. You need to download a program called Sandboxie, and follow the below tutorial.
So I'm watching my friend's first game of dota. Its like some weird alternate universe where everyone has sub 200 gpm except the obvious smurf pudge (who isn't even that good). I've seen people literally run up to a tower, attack it, and continue standing there attacking as it kills them. The pudge has 19 kills at 14 minutes :s I feel bad for them though, it would have been a somewhat fun game if the pudge hadn't ruined it.
Edit: Wow, then he goes and fountain camps them for 5 minutes.
