I feel that Ice intentionally aimed games right now and competitive games being around 30 minutes or so (something that Ice was vocal about) but the average competitive games right now seems to be what maelk feared, the game is becoming too snowbally imo.
So, I think your average game length right now is intentional on Ice's part but the "way" he did it was by promoting the amount of bounty you gain for killing heroes but there was something that was beautiful or at the very least appreciative of farming in DotA that the Chinese teams did so well that became a bit more muted now. Whether people liked it or not, the Chinese style almost proved superior in everyway as shown in TI2 with the exception of Na'vi and to be frank, Na'vi had a signature style of their own to focus solely on the midgame (dendi quoted something similar to the lines or "why go late game when you can win earlier") that was fun to spectate. Im not a Navi fanboy but they played their style BEST during TI + TI2 whereas right now, like I watch recent games and can't help but feel that every single team is playing the way na'vi used to play because even having a late game almost seems nonexistent. I guess the point I'm ultimately trying to make here is that the recent changes I feel really shows us the same sort of games stylistically of being aggressive (even Chinese teams) 24/7.
We still have impressive 1 hour epics, it's just that I feel we're seeing less of them.
Navi's TI2 style was much different from their TI1 style.
The current Chinese style is such calculated aggression and timing pushes, it's scary to watch. Western teams might go back and farm, kill some neutrals after they secure a kill. Chinese teams now will force fights and take 2 towers or more.

How come people aren't talking about the (potentially) biggest patch change: undying decay nerf

hero tier wise the scene is in general agreement. but there are still major differences in style among the top 3 chinese teams. roughly iG is the most aggressive, DK most lategame heavy and conservative, and LGD in-between.
the overall direction of balance certainly have tilted to iG's side more and more, and that's largely why they've been winning a lot. skills wise, they have a slight edge but not enough to be that much better than the other two teams. although their personnel is such that they'll have the easiest time adjusting to whatever change that comes next. for example, emphasis on multicore lineups of 3 or more farming heroes.

range is somewhat decieving. I feel like its about 200 less than it displays in reality

^ Spot on. I check with the green range indicator beforehand and swear I have it planned out but its always just short =(. Might have to start playing with the console range indicator on for a while until I get the hang of it.
But if you click a tree with the ability it wont fire untill you are in range of the tree, again, i fail to see how that's hard. To me it's like saying vengeful swap is hard to land when it's targetable and wont fire unless you're in range.
Just saying. I mean i suppose i could see how it could be hard if you try to blind fire them without clicking the tree, but even then.
Usually its a case of the tree I want being a bit off-screen when I need to shoot it but I guess its just a matter of being better at selecting the one I want quicker =).

Edit: I played him a few games in a row testing it out and never experienced the problem of it not working if i target a tree.

No talk in regards to (mouz) Black potentially switching to sc2 in here?

So yea, 37% winrate on shredder. The hell, hahaha.
|
mediocre hero with funny voice actor is not enough to carry him!
|
I can't wait to see how low dragonus will be in pubs, in terms of win-rate.
|
I played one game of shredder with my low mmr friends and I found him to be pretty entertaining. His chain has a pretty slow cast animation which is annoying, but otherwise the rest of him played quite nicely.

Why did they put a sound in when someone types something? worst idea ever
|
no way timbersaw is mediocre, just had my first game with him lol. Was loving when the enemy retreated into the woods, hooking time.

yea honestly it was so unneeded, hopefully people bring it up enough so they can get rid of it like new bb sound

Is there anyway to turn it off? I can't play with that sound
