First impressions after facing Timbersaw in a few MM games already..
Seems very strong in the hands of a decent player. His Chain (2nd skill) combo'd with his first skill does ridiculous amounts of damage early at low levels.
When paired with a stun in-lane to help setup his chain ability, hes fucking scary to go up against.
With his 3rd skill you can also stack it before going in to a fight by getting hit by neutral creeps.

I feel that Ice intentionally aimed games right now and competitive games being around 30 minutes or so (something that Ice was vocal about) but the average competitive games right now seems to be what maelk feared, the game is becoming too snowbally imo.
So, I think your average game length right now is intentional on Ice's part but the "way" he did it was by promoting the amount of bounty you gain for killing heroes but there was something that was beautiful or at the very least appreciative of farming in DotA that the Chinese teams did so well that became a bit more muted now. Whether people liked it or not, the Chinese style almost proved superior in everyway as shown in TI2 with the exception of Na'vi and to be frank, Na'vi had a signature style of their own to focus solely on the midgame (dendi quoted something similar to the lines or "why go late game when you can win earlier") that was fun to spectate. Im not a Navi fanboy but they played their style BEST during TI + TI2 whereas right now, like I watch recent games and can't help but feel that every single team is playing the way na'vi used to play because even having a late game almost seems nonexistent. I guess the point I'm ultimately trying to make here is that the recent changes I feel really shows us the same sort of games stylistically of being aggressive (even Chinese teams) 24/7.
We still have impressive 1 hour epics, it's just that I feel we're seeing less of them. Most games are one-sided anyway... Kinda hard to fix that issue. The snowball effect that the game is headed towards with the length of the avg game being shorter and the gold differential between the teams being over 10k now in half a hour is indicative that it's intentional rather than being an issue to have more one sides games IMO. i don't think aggression is always the answer. there are successful cases of a reactive/defensive response winning against facerushing lineups. see G-1 semis LGD v iG game 1.
in any given game half of the bans are against anti-push aoe heroes anyway. hard to state a case that the stalling capability isn't there when it is wanted. it is true though that today's carry players are expected to be in almost every fight past the laning stage.

When going against the computer, been trying with and without quelling blade and I just find it to be quite difficult to last hit without one. Can go like quelling blade, tango, 2 branches, clarity and a salve. With the branches and blade, it makes last hitting much easier but argh, so difficult. I do love the low cost of whirling blade, can use it several times without being depleted. Oh and I did find something neat with Shadowblade. You use your ult and than go invis to stay alive and hopefully avoid dying! But yeah, here is a question. since blood stone gives mana regen, should we disassemble arcane boots and go to treads or go for bot for pushing lanes? Oh and final thought, what of initiation items for him. Been just thinking of getting blink or something with him, but not sure why I keep thinking of getting him an item like that (since has chain). Edit: Adding more info
With his reactive armor a stout shield makes his laning real terror for your opponents.

I find that he's about as easy to last hit with as Antimage. His attack point is quite low. His mana usage is quite a problem though.

i am so glad to see that shadow shaman set go through, that was easily one of the best sets in the whole thing

Will there only be 10 Polycount winners?

AKA Rider of the Storm. Although the Warlock Archivist set might upset it, but I'm doubtful.

I'm leaning toward the Rider of the Storm unless someone can turn up a video/image of the Warlock Armor that's not a mock-up but an actual in-game model.

Hmm, it would be a pain I would agree. I haven't played him during an actual match yet, will wait a bit since he will be getting picked. Just trying to think of different starting builds to go with. Like quelling with armor, chain/whirly with stout, or stout and armor focus for well, you cant do shit to me build.
But like I posed before. Do you think it is viable to swap arcane to Treads or BoT after finishing bloodstone?
Oh and should check out iceiceice playing shredder. He went max armor first and so much trolling. Just holding back entire lane and tanking everything. That hp regen is just insane.

Just keep Arcanes after Bloodstone. The mana is still more useful to you than anything the other Boots give unless you're ahead enough that you can stack Bloodstone super fast and don't need the additional Arcanes mana (then you can probably use Travels).

Was watching Iceiceice's stream just now and he maxed out reactive armor first in lane on Timber, and was basically immune to harass, lol.. You take a few hits and your regen is basically to the point where you have a permanent healing salve on you constantly. Edit: Just saw someone else mentioned it.. And yeah he was just pulling the creep waves axe style, and wouldn't take any damage from it, haha. I think he was tanking 3 creep waves at one time while pretty much staying at full hp... And this is at like level 6.
So if you want to go for more of a last-hitting and more passive focused opening build on Timbersaw so you can get your mana boots up quick and bloodstone faster, maxing his armor first is really good.

I'd lean towards bully items over armor for starting items. Maybe a Ring of Protection so you can make a RoB at the sideshop so you can spam more, but I'd need some stat items to last hit with 50 basedamage. Maybe I just suck though
Agree with Yango on keeping Arcanes around though. He has enough mana dependence that the arcanes certainly won't go to waste. Disassembling them to finish Bloodstone and then picking up another energy booster may be a good idea if you can get charges in the between time though. Might be easier to just avoid fighting until you have both.

A second point if you're getting harassed hard might be useful, but maxing it at 7 is just silly. You shouldn't need that much regen to sustain yourself.

Damn, I sucked with my 1st game as timbers. Won ez the lane vs a melee but didn't have a clue how to act in teamfights, mby it was just the bad flow of the game. Dunno, will have to test him thoroughly.
And yes, im throwing my wallet on the screen regarding the new skins.
