If you don't feel horribe for masspicking Cent/Drow you in fact seem to have some issues...

Every single game I roll him its against an offensive trilane with sents and dust.... no thanks. But those are the best possible lanes for Gondar; nothing better than taking advantage of a small mistake they make and taking out one of the supports, giving you back almost all the gold and xp you lost from being zoned out. Remember, the bigger they are the harder they fall.
Even if they don't, all they have is vision over that small part of the map and really squishy supports. Meanwhile your team can freely go around and make their mid's life a pain. Once you pop 6 and assist some ganks everything starts going downhill for them.
Edit: to the person above: Drow and Cent are great to make it miserable for them Naix pickers or for team Magnus + Sven combo-wombo.

Hi, why is the average match on dotabuff so short? https://dotabuff.com/matches Couldnt find any game over 30minutes until page 6. If this is actually correct I find it weird people complaining about drawn out stomps where people refuse to finish the game.

There is a "problem" with Naix pickers O_o?

So the short ones show up first

I'm really having problems dealing with Phantom Lancer..
That nuke of his is retarded..plus you need insane amount of focusing down to get rid of him first..but then you leave your team open to potshots from a drow or someone else...Does he have any kind of a hard counter..and what are the best ways to lane against him...I completely wrecked his farming in one game with a darkseer...But he just got a couple of kills with a gank and then started rolling people...Tower pushing like a madman too

Everyone should pick Meepo. Or Morphling.

In terms of Mana Regen items, what's the difference between % based and the decimal based?
ie. Ring of Aquila (0.65) and a Sage's Mask (50%)
Let's say the base regen of one hero is currently 5 per second. With Ring of Aquila, does it become 5.65 or multiplied by 65% (meaning more than Sage's Mask)? With Sage's Mask, I figure it becomes 7.5 per second right? If you have more than 33 int, a sage's mask will give you more mana regen than the bas ring.

You struggle to push and take towers despite having teammates with questionable decision making, to say the least, and then just when you are about to take down a rax the guy that has been attacking nothing but creeps comes and mops everything up. It is a valid style of play, but just so god damn boring. If I wanted to kill AI controlled things while avoiding the big scary things only to return 20 mins later to deal with them I would just go play a singleplayer game.
Naix is just a terror in pubs more than any other hero, since he needs so little to kill those that think a low health hero is just 2 auto attacks from death and stand there and try to auto attack and actually heal the guy before handing the free gold and xp.
I am sorry if this looks like a QQ post since those are not really meant here, but it is just my point of view.

Last night I was laning against PL and Kotl... so PL kept spamming his nuke while Kotl kept refilling hia mana. It was so stupid but worked well. I was wanting to rage at how little I could actually do to them.
But yeah, I do not know if there are hard counters to him.

The easy way to deal with a PL kotl lane is to just go fucking kill them. No honestly, the way to beat that lane is to be able to kill them in one go.

Basically you need strong of aoe to quickly kill illusions, then focus the main hero down. Cleave hurts him a lot, especially Kunkka, if he's farmed enough he just kills all illusions every 4 seconds.

Nah, the actual counter to PL is a sven. Doesn't matter what sven does, he'll mow down all the illusions and damage the real PL if he's there. Build battlefuries for better cleaving, obviously.

If you stun him and go for him often he will have to use his mana running not hitting you. characters with decent aoe shred illusions until PL has heart, but if PL has heart he either does little to no damage or is incredibly farmed in which case you should be too. i like puck a lot vs a PL lane, phase shift dodges the spirit lances, while your aoe and chasing ability help secure kills on him (silence helps too). and your ultimate is incredibly strong in team fights. also puck is awesome.
a lot of laning vs strong spells is a mental game. show you are the bully and people play much more timid. the better players are less swayed, so you just have to do more actual bullying.

It was mostly a joke though, thought the italics made that obvious.

I disconnected from a game and could not reconnect, restarted dota/steam and it kept popping up with "Disconnected from server, Unable to establish a connection to server". Anyone know how to fix this?

What's the deal with people hating on "tryharding"? It's really illogical.
Like, you play some current trendy hero like magnus/sven or some shit and suddenly you're a tryhard just because of that reason. You buy a smoke, a ward or a sentry and you're tryharding. (on the other hand, you don't and you're bad)
I hate having a 5carry team and the other team is playing like it's a qualifier for TI3 as well, but it's so silly raging on people when they wanna win. I never understood the logic behind the hate on "tryhard".
If you wanna play for fun, play for fun. Dagons BH's and Axes galore, why not but don't expect other people to play the same way if they just wanna improve/win.
So what do you guys do? Do you play to win, or just do random shit?

When picking heroes I either pick whatever I feel like or random if I cant decide and just go with it. I hardly play the same hero twice in a row. But when actually in game I play 100% to win with whatever hero Ive got.
Its funnier to win then one hit people but if you can do both thats a big plus. Shadow Blade, Desolator and Daedalus for my SF. Still 100% so I see no reason not to continue with it.
