signal for mating, commonly used by zoologists/anthropologists when determining sexual behavior patterns.
Likely not the context you need though.

The sentence you read it from would help, but in Dota 2's context it's most likely Source Filmmaker.

Edit: Valve's introduction to it:

I remember reading a while ago that ZSMJ originally played a Chinese variant of DotA called Zhensan.

Can anyone give me a quick overiew of how it was different from DotA? I'm just curious because apparently ZSMJ's new team will include a Zhensan player called Show.

Wa Zhensan the chinese clone of tides of blood? there was ONE chinese clone of ToB that was pretty popular. not sure if that was it.

All know is that Zhensan was built around the mythology of 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms'. I have a few random videos from both games, I'll see if the map is the same.

Edit: I might be wrong but they look quite different.

Can somebody quickly tell me, in terms of the competitive scene, what are the "typical" positions/roles? What do the numbers mean (like when someone says 3rd/4th/5th position etc.)

I'm guessing on a standard team, you've got these:

1. Hard Carry
2. Jungler
3. Off-laner
4. Support
5. Mid-laner

Now I know some heroes fill 2+ roles, or depending on item build go heavily towards 1 role, but is this what the usual makings of a team is?

Essentially, the numbers go from 1 who needs the most farm (Hard Carry) to 5 who needs the least amount of farm (Hard support).

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

For a defensive trilane, it is usually:
1. Hard Carry
2. Mid laner
3. Off-Laner
4,5 Support

Alternatively, the 4 position may be a jungler. That's generally what the numbers correspond to.

In pubs, where it is 2-1-2, or when they run an offensive trilane, this may vary. For instancce, back when Lycan was a top pick, the 1 position would often be filled by a jungling Lycan.

Edit: Ninja'd, yeah it is basically a list of who has the highest priority for getting farm.

Not in a good place to look for kupon's post, but they refer to farm priorities, with 1 being the highest.

Usually it's 1. Carry 2. Midlaner 3. Offlaner 4. Jungler/support 5. Hard support

Thanks

After some googling, I found this response from a burning interview:
Q. As far as I know, before playing DotA, a lot of top Chinese players, including you, were playing a Chinese Dota-like called Zhensan. How is this game different from DotA and how did it help you to become an excellent DotA player?

A. Zhensan is more about individual micro, the team fight likes formulas, spell cast orders or lineup is very close in every game, while DotA is more focused on strategy. With my Zhensan’s skill, I can adapt DotA very easily. The last hits in DotA is way more easier than Zhensan. That’s why most of the players from Zhensan to DotA started playing carry heroes first.

Yes, but in another order. Might I suggest to make sure you can play any role to become really versatile and more appealing for teams.

They still have 3 more days of results to post, I wouldn't get too upset until they actually post all the winners and now just the first 3.
