In terms of this, its pretty much guaranteed. As far as NA goes, probably never. People like easier games, all my friends said "tried dota, too hard, went back to LoL."

Let's start advertising dota as the easier game. END OF THE WORLD

Which I hope won't happen, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.
As far as NA goes, LoL is just on the cusp of the "Asian domination" wave that put a damper on other games--it has the potential to lose Western popularity the way BW and DotA did. DotA 2 is more or less already a community that's lived in the wake of that for years now, so it's not like we're going to lose more.

Not that steam doesn't have flaws, but just calling it a piece of shit is quite odd to me.

Perhaps it is unfair and I should have not posted that. You're right.
I have a lot of problems with Steam, but it's a free service. Just a shame it's required for dota2.

It's still the best around, if there has to be some kind of additional client to a game, I would choose steam above any other avaible

Most players that I know who have played both league and dota for a long time say it'll be very difficult for dota to surpass league. I don't think most people here realize just how big league is. Sure, China is big, but that's the only place it's winning over League right now, and it's pretty much cemented in NA, Korea, and strong in Europe.

Dota is winning in Russia coz the lol demographic is playing World of Tanks xD

Steam got a lot better when Valve realized they could make money off other people selling their games on it rather than just their own.

Do Dota really need to surpass League tho ? I'm not even sure we should set this as a goal.
