"Steam friends coming soon" for like 4-5 years or something before it started working. :D

Of course dota will surpass league, eventually the Teams get sick of being bossed around by riot and give up the lol teams and the competitve lol dies. casuals will continue to play as they always have though.

I don't know where you're getting that idea from, but the top teams love riot. Not to mention all the money they get including a salary for the top 8 teams of each region. Dota players seem to be really out of touch with reality and can only see from 1 perspective which happens to be their own. I think most people here should be happy if dota can be equal to league or close to equal.

I feel that a lot of DotA players overestimate the popularity of the game. If the game were out of beta, I'm not sure the player count would increase that dramatically. Also I think the relatively high graphic requirements for DotA 2 will hurt the game's popularity in China and other Asian countries, as it did for SC2.

In china it'll easily surpass league, so in terms of worldwide numbers it will. Most players that I know who have played both league and dota for a long time say it'll be very difficult for dota to surpass league. I don't think most people here realize just how big league is. Sure, China is big, but that's the only place it's winning over League right now, and it's pretty much cemented in NA, Korea, and strong in Europe.
I don't know. The way Valve is developing Dota 2 it is pretty obvious they have long term plans for the game, and the same could probably be said about Riot. Both companies will have to play an active role to keep the interest up for their respective game, but here I think Valve has an head start considering there already is a large Dota community which has been self sustained for years. Steam is also a big platform guaranteeing reliable exposure. Adding to this is that we haven't really seen Valve's finished product and what it brings. They have mentioned modding, and depending on the possibilities with the editor we might see a strong modding scene with a heap of tried and tested ideas from the WC3-era ready to be made from the get-go.
All this being said I still think it is Riot's market to lose. I have no doubt Dota 2 will be a fantastic game with a strong user base and it has all the potential to become number 1, but it's undeniable how big Lol is right now. At this point it looks unlikely Dota 2 will be bigger, but it is always hard to predict many years in advance, and I wouldn't put it past Riot to fuck something up.

I don't care as long as Chinese teams play dota2

Last I heard the LoL playerbase in China is bigger than the entire dota2 playerbase.

So, after not playing for a bit I jumped back into a pub all pick, got the sole carry role with good teammates and won. Wait, it's not that simple, we nearly lost. + Show Spoiler + I made the mistake of rushing Butterfly, which left me with no HP and no way to teamfight out of Chrono, and the Furion bought Orchid, silencing me everytime. We got 1 set of rax, but slowly lost ground, which ended in us losing 2 sets of rax. Furion backdoored the last one, giving them mega creeps, at which point I sold my Battlefury and went for a Divine. It worked. Wisp was one of the best supports, and best Wisps I've ever seen, he made sure we finished the game as I baseraced with his help against mega creeps and Furion.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was the other way around (if you include dota 1 as well).

ancient AI exploits? What would those be exactly?

Hm, I wonder what the creep chase time change is exactly, don't want to relearn my pull timings as bad as they might be :/
Rest of the stuff makes sense, nice to see more PRD!
Obviously sad for no new hero though :/

Did damage block have PRD in dota 1?

Yes.
List of what was a PRD in Dota 1:
Critical Strike (ex. Phantom Assassin’s Coup de Grace, Crystalys) Bash (ex. Faceless Void’s Time Lock. As of its remake, Cranium Basher does not follow this distribution.) Pulverize (ex. Infernal’s Flaming Fists, Tidehunter’s Anchor Smash) Orb of Slow (ex. Maim, Maelstrom) Hardened Skin (ex. Stout Shield, Vanguard)
