Edit: also i noticed that all this " call the skill by their name " nonsense became popular after tobi talked about it in the interview with jp. Why ?

NS vs Seeker... BS is a strong 1v1 solo, but extremely prone to ganking. He is better at providing vision than his three-jawed counterpart (only pre-aghs though, a Agha NS is pure maphack). You could argue that Smoke sort of killed Seeker (and other fragile no-escape heroes like SF). I would love to see a Aghanim's effect on him (constant vision on blood raged and ruptured heroes would fit) or a bloodrage buff (split the damage increase and silence in 2 separate effects so you can purge the silence off an ally or purge the dmg buff off an enemy; casting the skill would still affect the target with both effects). Come to think of it, I should have used the word "alternative", not "replacement".

But I should have mentioned i was extremely liberal with order of the hotkeys, going out of my way to ensure that the skills that are most used land on c and r. In dota2 the order is so I have most orbwalking stuff on R, as it is in legacy

If I were a new player reading this thread, I'd still rather see the name of the skill. I personally still legacy, but you don't see me going around saying "hold off on skilling your D or B before seeing your lane and max F first." Why make things confusing for people?

After playing with the same skill buttons 5 years, I kind of see the point in it.

I guess there is an argument that says if you don't know the name, don't discuss the spell, but I'm not sure knowing the name is any more important than, say knowing the legacy key binding to most people (no importance whatsoever). To add to this, new players will ALMOST ALWAYS use QWER, and they certainly won't know the spell names either ("Nether Strike" doesn't mean anything to me OR them, except that I just looked it up as an example).

Actually, I don't search much, but still. Maybe it is a legacy of too much HoN (rebindable, but default QWER on every hero and all the same spells were renamed). Actually, I think I can name the ablilities of most of the HoN heroes 1+ years old. Still, describing skill builds as: Shadow Strike, Blink, Shadow Strike, Scream of Pain, Scream of Pain, Scream of Pain, Scream of Pain, Sonic Wave, Blink, Blink, Sonic Wave really isn't "grokkable". At a glance, it is neither obvious what level you are getting ultimate nor how many levels I just allocated, etc etc. To clarify, I'm looking for convenient shorthand here when discussing a build, not a way to write a guide to Queen of Pain. This isn't the guide thread ![]()

Who is honestly going to be confused if you say "Skill E first on lane" or whatever because it's always the 3rd skill.
