Rubick is a good choice for beginners purely because his ult lets you learn most of the spells in the game without having to play every hero. He's squishy, but that's a characteristic of int heroes in general.
Ogre Magi is probably the easiest hero to learn in the game but he really doesn't feel like an int hero (higher str gain than int, melee, etc.) Dark Seer is another choice but he's probably not as good for a true beginner to the genre. Lion and Rhasta (shadow shaman) both get thrown around a lot by people as good choices for new players but neither is an easy hero to learn (and mastering either can be extremely difficult) and using mana drain on Lion teaches poor mana management. Jakiro isn't a bad choice.
There's also CM if you want to experience the ultimate incarnation of an intelligence support hero. She can be especially effective at lower skill levels where her low movement speed and easily canceled ult aren't as likely to be abused.
Stay away from Storm Spirit, Visage, Invoker, and OD.

"Queen OP" is good enough for me.
Does anybody else level her
W-Q-Q-E-E-E-E-R-W-W-R? (to 11)
AKA ult at 8?
I've seen a lot of pros do it, and I'll admit that I *never* have the mana for ulti before I get some item (even just point booster helps). It gives you insane harass in lane, plus it gets you max Scream at 7, but skipping such a powerful ulti seems... hard to accept.

What are those letters? WTF

Blink, Shadow Strike x2, Scream x4, Ult is the order.

Why would you start with blink lol, don't pick skills till you see the lane, ever

If you're going mid level 1 SS is very common unless you're super afraid of a level 1 gank. Level 1 of SS lets her outlane tinker and most other mids.

No, there are a lot of lanes where QoP will start with Shadow Strike. Particularly melees that start 3xBranch+1 Regen consumable to Bottle rush. If you dont have Shadow Strike till 2, they will have their Bottle by the time you can really put the pressure on (whereas if you get Shadow Strike level 1 you can force them off the lane and delay their Bottle by 1-2 waves).

The first 2 levels are interchangeable but that is hard to represent in a very compact fashion.
QWER is universal and understandable. If you don't use it, fine, it is immediately obvious what is being said.
I don't even know the right names for probably over half the abilities in the game, and I've played essentially all the heroes multiple times.

You only get it if you need it. There is no cookie-cutter build for QoP, her early skill order is very situational.
Also, you definitely have the mana to gank with Ult+Scream at 6 (which, when killing lower-level sidelanes, is almost entirely enough to get kills).

Suddenly TOO MUCH TO VIEW

I find it harder to remember out of game what slot an ability is over it's name, but I remember playing warlocks and calling abilities by hotkeys so i know why you do that, it's just annoying coz it takes significant effort for me to read that shit and sometimes I just can't without looking it up :/

I know the names (or descriptions) far better than the position on the skillset. Specially since it was not the same thing as the hotkey in Dota. You don't have to know the exact name, lots of skills are ussually just refered as "stun", "life steal", "wind walk" or other generic names, and it's far easier to identify them that way, specially if you are new or don't really play that hero.

Heh I meant map warlocks, not hero. Should have said i meant an UMS

If I had to use words for QoP's skill-set, I would legitimately call them "Dagger, Blink, Scream, Ulti" in that order (from left to right on the screen).
I'm assuming that that isn't any easier to understand? Now that the discussion has happened, I remember that the first ability is "shadow strike" but I wouldn't have before.
Honestly, if you don't remember the order of the abilities, even if you use legacy keys, It is hard for me to believe that you have any experience with whatever hero is being discussed. Note that "you" doesn't refer to anybody in particular here, just "people that dislike QWER naming conventions"
D and F are used substantially less and I don't expect people to know what they are used for on any given hero.
Edits: spelling/word choice

I'm not using legacy and not using QWER and I suggest most people to not use QWER or legacy. I picked a layoutfrom elgacy that I found most comfortable and adapted it for every hero. It goes REWCVX. Bonus points for guessing the hero, V and X aren't a part of the starting setup

You're typing in a forum discussion FFS. Just type out the spell name instead of being lazy or stubborn with this QWER crap. Things are understood better if you just took some time to type out the proper spell names instead of QWERing your way through a discussion.
