Because if I pull to unstacked dire easies/mediums, then "continue" the pull to the respective nearby hards, then I'm not seeing an issue here Yes, that's what I mean.
Scourge can double pull, but cannot triple pull the way Sentinel can triple pull medium->medium->hard, because none of the double pull-able Scourge camps are close enough to a 3rd camp to continue the pull.

Well yeah, but as I mentioned if you continue the pull to hards, then you USUALLY don't have a problem. I guess if you went dire easies to dire hards and they happened to be centaurs, then maybe the lane creeps don't all die? dunno.
Also BurningSera thanks for the pictures. I really wish I could doodle on them in my posts but I'm kinda at work so
Random question: When I say "Long" Lane, what lane do you guys think of?
+ Show Spoiler +I think of the Suicide lane but afaik some don't agree with me.

I don't really see how the suicide lane could be called "long"
|
The Long lane is the longer lane (hurr) which is the safe lane
|
Long distance from your tower to where the lane starts... T_T

The Scourge Hard pull on the Dire works both ways somewhat, Radiant can pull it to its lane to make it push a bit. Furion, and Windrunner do this often and sometimes Dark Seer. You do however run the risk of giving the Dire extra experience this way.

It's based on the distance of creeps from your tower. Noobs always get it wrong

steam crash

The long lane to me is the lane with the longest traversal distance for my creeps to meet their creeps, which for radiant would be top and for dire bottom.
That's what I think of anyway when someone says "long lane".

The distance from the tower to the creeps is like always different, if we want to name the lanes we should use what stays the same in every game, the distance from base to tower.
|
long lane is actually the relative distance of your tower to your fountain. Would be bot for radi and top for dire

Long lane = hard lane = suicide lane Short lane = easy lane = safe lane
Funnily the wiki disagrees including a picture which... doesn't make sense. WHY WOULD YOU CALL THE THING THATS OBVIOUSLY SHORTER THE LONG ONE?! T_T

Edit: And on top the wiki mentions that probably the most watched casters use the above ("wrong") definition. qq.
tl;dr: Stick to hard/suicide/easy/safe. =P

So since tobi calls plasma field, surge We should all do it

Long means the distance between your first defense to your base, which is from tower 1 to tower 3.
|
I feel pretty lonely now, since I call it "offlane". Not like it matters anyway, as long as everybody knows what you are refering to.
|
If you already quote the wiki, why not look at the references?
http://www.playdota.com/learn/lanes
clearly says that the short lane is the lane which tier1 is closer to the base
|
I actually have the issue of playing 99% of my games on Sentinel in dota1 and i call hem bot and top. I am in the state now when I mix em up all the time coz I sometimes know that I usually get them wrong and meta fuck up "fixing" the right thought. Our skype is a real mess sometimes when I play dota with friends

Long/short lanes confuse the fuck out of me. Safe/hardlane is so much easier and clearer to use.
