Celebrated hardcore WoW player Kripparrian is going to be streaming D3 16 hours per day every day, starting from may 15th. He seems like a really cool, hard-working guy who has done a lot for the WoW community so let's help him spread the word.

Doesn't seem too difficult, sleep for 6 hours, maintain body/eat for 1 hour, 1 hour of stretch breaks, 16 hours of D3.

Why would you want to watch that?

If you're going to be playing D3 16 hours a day anyway, might as well stream it.

Same reason people watch sc2.

People watch sc2 because it's directly competitive. Watching people play against each other is a much different thing from watching PvE content (even group-based runs).

Look, I don't get it either, and there is no way I'll be watching. But, I can almost bet you there will be plenty that do [watch].

Tons of people watched skyrim streams when that game came out... shit I did too now that I think about it.

I will be watching his stream, and I will also be playing Diablo at the same time. I probably won't have his stream on all the time, and he's an interesting personality who takes the games he play very seriously.

As it stands now, without the PvP aspect, true.
After seeing this Commentary from ForceStrategyGaming, I see myself watching some 2v2 games though.

I did watch some D3 streams of the beta but mainly because I don't have access myself. And I just needed a D3 fix,

People watch sc2 because it's directly competitive. Watching people play against each other is a much different thing from watching PvE content (even group-based runs).

People watch mlg,ipl vods on youtube, etc because it's directly competitive. They don't watch first person view of someone playing sc2 for that reason. When you watch any competition, do you watch from the player's perspective or do you watch freecam, where you can see both player's location?

There's people willing to watch people play anything. Some of the most popular streams on twitch.tv are people playing single player games. Fans of the broadcaster will watch them play anything.

I can't say I'd be interested in watching someone play D3 in the initial weeks since I'll be playing myself, but I could see people who don't buy the game on release watching.

Ah Kripparrian. I was on the tiny shit server (Ysondre) when his guild Exodus transferred over. I only pvp'd at that point, and Kripp was one of the few guys in his guild who I actually liked (and one of the few who's actually decent at arena...). Good guy from everything I've seen.

Best memory was running into him in 2v2 and seeing my hunter buddy 3 shot him. I guess he wore the wrong gear into the match.

Best of luck to him, and like people have said, if you're going to be playing that much with a monster computer then you might as well stream.

His team has gone all out on this, himself especially. He's killed Skeleton King 1000+ times in beta, it's quite ridiculous how much time he has put into the same gameplay over and over.
